ENSLAVEMENT/ABUSE IN NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION

Enslavement can be defined constitutionally as when someone makes a fellow citizen to completely and absolutely dependent on him/her possibly with deployment of sanction and oppression like maltreatment, threat to life and rape, molestation, conspiracy, etc with intention of denying or depriving  such a person his/her human right . while slavery can be defined as an act of owning a person by sanction and deployment of oppressive gimmicks  as well as compelling obedient from such person with the same machinery to forced labor. This is why a slave is the one who is  so strongly influenced by something that they cannot  live without it or will not allow them to make  their own decisions. Now, one can become a slave to a particular habit or to a property because he/she is being remote or controlled by such objects or habits. So, no matter whatever you are  slave with or to; it is quite different  from enslaving. To enslave one involves more in deployment of diverse sanctions to achieve ones aims and objectives towards ones subject or object of inflicting the authorities and powers.

constitutionally,  enslavement  is a crime or offense on it own punishable by section 34 of Nigerian constitution. it is a crime on its own because it has to do with total denial to human right of a fellow citizen. people that are good in enslaving sometimes employ different gimmicks to accomplish their mission. let us dive in to Nigerian Constitution  to dig out the gimmicks behind this crime:

SECTION 34 (1)
"Every individual is entitled to respect for the dignity of his person
and accordingly
(a) no person shall be subject to torture or to inhuman or degrading
treatment
(b) no person shall be held in slavery or servitude; and
(c) no person shall be required to perform forced or compulsory labor
SECTION 34 (2)
For the purpose of the above subsection (1) (c) of this section:
"forced or compulsory labor" does not include:
(a) any labor required consequence of sentence order of a court
(b) Any labor required members of the armed forces of federation
or the Nigerian Police force in pursuance of their duties as such
(c) in the case of a person who has conscientious objections to service
in armed forces of federation; any labor required instead of
such service
(d) Any labor required which is reasonably necessary in the event of
an emergency or calamity threatening  the life or well being of the
community or
(e) any labor or service  that forms part of
(i) Nominal community or other obligations of well being
of the community
(ii) such compulsory national service in the armed forces of
the federation as may be prescribed by an act of the
national assembly
(iii) Such compulsory national service which forms part of the
education and training  of citizens of Nigeria as may be
prescribed by Act of National Assembly
Anything short of the above specifications are termed  enslavement
and must be reported to High court for readdress. "

Enslavement is also a sorts of abuse when the victim is violently maltreated or receiving indirect violent threat to life. it can be abuse of trust from one's boss when he betrays the victim or stab him/her from the back with gimmicks and motive to enslave.

Enslavement can also come in form of imposing unnecessary harmful laws or rules which are totally against Nigerian constitution or punishable by constitutional laws. sometimes, it can be beyond  your control and to subject you to inhuman treatment or torture. such unnecessary sanction to obey immaterial laws or assume a character of disgrace with rebate  or rewards which you might negotiate with the illegal perpetrator hiding behind the scene but responsible  for the wicked acts are called enslavement. example of such enslavement ranges from by force marriage, this is common in some customs of uneducated tribes in Northern part of Nigerian who marries early  as 14 years.

The height of offense of abuses effects to the victims are uncontrollable  ranging  from sexual  infections to the victims and the suffering of premature vagina exposure sicknesses or infections. this is common in Northern part of Nigeria, any one encouraging such marriage of female below the ages of 21 years is committing felony and liable to 7 years imprisonment.

So also any act of violent to your human right by fellow citizen should be reported to high court for reddress and compensation because no one has the right to inflict pains talk more of forcing you beyond your human right by conniving and conspiracy with individuals who are  not statutoryly backed by law to do so.

Enslavement  can be criminal act when it is employed as a machinery to induce stealing by trick. here, we refer to people who illegally impersonates fellow citizens to receive an unauthorized  rewards or awards on their behalf; only to end up not giving the people they represent what they receive for them. This type is liable to 14 years imprisonment by Nigerian constitutional Law. The enslavement here shows up when the criminal tries to cover up his crimes. They may employ diverse gimmicks of allegations to hold captive the one they impersonate; more especially when the perpetrators are group of people with one common goal of enslavement against their victimized individual. we can cite this type of enslavement  in a community where  people are living with one common culture. example of this type of enslavement is the citing practice of racism where the rich and the poor express their superiority/inferiority complex. The educated tend to oppress the uneducated less privileged ones with gimmicks of using them to collect things from dignitaries without permission. They easily succeed in doing this especially when their victim has damaged reputable which they will help to darken with blackmails so that they will gain more entrance to do their wicked harm of enslavement. But thank God for the educated poor ones who will boldly stand to challenge those gimmicks of enslavement with their intellectuals and curb enslavement by discrimination in the society

Let's join hands to fight Enslavement by racial discrimination and gimmicks of intimidation in the society as provided by Nigerian constitution. Long lives the arms of the federation, Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria, Long lives nations of the world.

INCREASED FRAUDULENT ACTS IN NIGERIA; USING AND CONVERTING GOVERNMENT PROPERTIES MEANT TO SERVE THE MASSES TO PERSONAL AND SELFISH AGGRANDIZEMENT

It has come to notice that some statutory staff heading the sensitive governmental offices as well as some private networks now ceases the opportunity to misuse the property under their care to selfish benefit as a result of instigation of their customers to services through bribery and corruption. To justify this point, there are series of activities that had occurred in recent times which when summarized from loopholes, we can discover the imminent fraudulent activities behind cover. One of these acts start from illegal power outage.

Electricity supply had remained the property and business of government of every nation, weather from solar energy conversion or from DAM (as Nigeria generates power from Kanji Dam) as a source of Alternative Current (AC). Though, the plights of irregular services of Alternative Current (AC) in Nigeria had led to families of victim purchasing generator set to use as a means of direct current (DC) when the statutory Alternative ones meant for government regulation are disrupted out of some factors.

Now, the point is that in recent, it had been discovered that not all power outage is as a result of faults from electricity Distribution agency or company in Nigeria. Some of the power outage majorly is as a result of illegal activities by civil senior staff of such company. Whereby, individual ceases government property to execute a private arrangement of inhibition of further action or success of a fellow citizen in order to justify acts of injustice and corrupt practices in the society; now Nigeria is the only country that can give room to such atrocities of victimizations to the public because of selfish purposes. It cannot be tolerated in the western world like Europe and America; even when a president gives such order but for a selfish purpose; he must be impeached because it jeopardizes the masses.

Just as I said earlier, it is a heinous crime when public servant ceases government properties without legal permission to indulge in illegal acts of personal victimization. I say this is as a result of suspected illegal and incessant power switch off sponsored by unknown public servant dignitary of known Electric Power regulating company in my area, in Nigeria. I monitored the activities for long time before writing this article: “As resident of the Area where I am residing make unnecessary and incessant phone calls to power control officials as well as instructing the person behind the wicked act on phone when to switch off power as way to stop their victim’s activities in his private and personal career advancement which is also a genuine ICT profession, this activity had lingered for months till date.

The above activities are as a result of preventing someone from making advancement in His/her personal career which is well known to the victim “their acts of wickedness”. But the question is when one ceases government property to perpetrate injustice, not just for public benefit but to selfish aggrandizement and ego as a top managing staff in a statutory company is a heinous economic crime which is against section 37 of Nigeria constitution as stated:

Section 37 Of Nigeria Constitution
37.“The privacy of citizens, their homes,
correspondence, telephone conversations
and telegraphic communications is
hereby guaranteed and protected.”

And also section 15(5) and section 16 (1, 1b & 1d) which states as follows:

Section 15(5)
            (5)        “The state shall abolish all corrupt practices and abuse of power”

Section 16 (1, 1b & 1d)
“The state shall, within the context of ideals and objectives for
which Provisions are made in this constitution:
(1b)    Control the national economy in such manner as to secure
the maximum  welfare, freedom and  happiness of every
citizen on basis of social justice   and equality of status and
            opportunity
(1d)    without discrimination to the right of any person to
participate in areas Of the economy within the major
sector of the economy,  protect the right Of every
citizen to engage in any economic activities outside major
sectors  of the economy”

Based on the above facts, I am calling on Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the state House of Assembly and Whistle Blowers Committee at http://whistle.finance.gov.ng/pages/default.aspx   to help to investigate this illegal activities in New haven Enugu, as well as alert the statutory bodies in Nigeria responsible in protecting government and individual properties like Nigerian Police Force to be at an alert to such insurgency, so that the criminals behind the acts be apprehended and handed over to Nigerian police for further interrogation and prosecution. When one is victimized in such act, the public also suffers along. If corruption will permit such act in this nation Nigeria to continue, that means we still have a long way to go in the society.

Sequentially to the trends of corruption is SIM Card swapping. We are in a country where everyone wants to make easy money without stress and hassles, thereby encouraging fraudulent acts like illegal SIM card swapping. People had gone to the length of bribing some top network senior officials into illegal activities of swapping SIM cards, most of these acts are perpetrated by women who use persuasion to confuse such personalities in to committing such crimes of swapping SIM cards of innocent citizens who works hard to earn money online; only with a motive of ending up taking over their activities and what the innocent ones has achieved because they felt they are smart and sharp.  On the other hand, this is seen as graduated hacking of someone’s belonging by conniving with private network to favor injustice and corruption in the society.

Sometimes, they bribe networks workers, who sometimes as well cease network operations to execute their wicked acts and activities. Recently, there is Network disruption in Etisalat lines in Nigeria which is termed to be a problem, who knows whether it is really a problem or corrupt activities going on in the network? My etisalat Network is still showing “Emergency”. Committing fraud is very easy but the consequences when one is court and sentenced by justice is brutal. Though, when I asked, they said it is a general problem but I known sometimes that such activities are traceable to corruption in progress like: To swap some prominent phone lines in order to gain access in to someone’s account because these days all the international bodies uses your personal phone number as an identity and confirmation of identity by sending codes. But I still encourage them to prevent change of phone lines or gsm lines used initially, as hackers are good in disrupting one’s account by changing phone lines and email in order to gain a permanent access to one’s account. Google had succeeded in doing this; but other bodies like yahoo, linkedin and affiliate marketing companies to include banks should emulate from such protection and security of prohibiting change of initial GSM or Phone number as 80% of such activities online are traceable to illegal hacking of someone’s account.

To still justify the above acts, someone last year from Senegal chatted with me online on facebook, and I ended up knowing her facebook password which was an account created to swap, and as a lady as claimed seeking for help to consign goods worth of billions giving me his secret password should be genuine person and had trusted you. Then, when she requested for my password to use and correct something in my facebook account, I disclosed it on trust without knowing she was a hacker in disguised. Before I could know what was happening, I could not gain access to my account again because He misrepresented Himself as a lady and got my password. The next thing He did was to delete all my pictures, changed my password but He could not change my email because of Yahoo security of sending codes to phone before you could gain access. So I have to be sharp to gain access to my yahoo mail as a restore point, but facebook could not grant me access because they were seeing another profile together, not mine, so I contact them direct and they asked me to send and upload my identity so that they will examine everything. I have to upload all my identities to include voter’s card as well; after uploading series of documents like permanent voter’s card, birth declaration certificate and my profile passport. Then after 48 hour my face account was restored back. I have to log in successfully through my email which they prohibited me and re-changed all the details the hackers changed. Already, he had succeeded in trying to dupe some of my facebook contacts in united state who later discovered that I was hacked.

Now, the question is why will people refuse to work hard to gain something? Why must one be eyeing what he or she cannot stand to defend before the public? It is a taboo in Nigeria that government who supposed to be fighting corrupt practices online is ignorant of this fact and because they are ignorant of it, they indirectly encourage such activities to victimization of innocent ones. As a writer and publisher with Google and Amazon; I think, I have accomplished much this year, having published three books with Amazon as well as articles like this with google. Yet I still detect hackers roaming around me making effort as well as trying to convert my account and earning process to theirs. I then wondered how I could be sleeping and those their wishes comes to pass? Their idiosyncrasy is obvious that they even go as length of swapping line from ETISALAT NETWORK. Based on this fact, I am beckoning on Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to look into online activities as well as give attention to reports coming from international bodies. I think this will help to curb corruption in this country. If NCC will engage in mass advertisement of their contacts to social networks and media abroad, they will be shocked the kind of reports and fraudulent acts Nigerians commits online. And if they can do this our image will be protected outside the country. Some networks outside the country banned Nigerians and Indians from participating while others accept only united state and Europeans citizens because of these ugly experiences. I think I have made these points from local to international level. Let’s join hands to fight corruption. Thanks
