Having deliberated on Sundry days of the week in our previous article; today, we are considering the topic: “Who owns the days?” .And we cannot know who owns the days without knowing origin of the days. Now using the Holy bible as a case study to this article, we will be able to know the origin of the days and the owner of the days known as the ancient of days.
The whole activities started from
GENESIS 1:1-END, it was addressed as the beginning of the world (The planet
earth), when God created the heaven and the earth, it was recorded that the
earth was formless and desolate and there was darkness upon the surface of the
watery deep. And God’s active force which is the Holy spirit was moving about
over the surface of the water. And God said “Let there be light”, then, there was light. Then God saw that the
light was good , and God began to divide the light from the darkness. God then called
the light day but the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there
was morning, a first day. This is how the day came to be in existence. Now the
question remains “Who owns the days?”.
God is the answer.
And having established this fact,
we are going to know how God divided the days of the week to become what we are
seeing today: God used the six days of the week in creating different things,
but on the seventh day; God rested. Now, after creating day and night THE FIRST DAY, He proceeded to create
heaven on THE 2ND DAY, on
THE 3RD DAY He created the
earth to produce plants and fruit trees according to their species, then, on THE 4TH DAY, God created
seasons and days and years, God made two luminaries, the greater one to
dominate the day and the lesser one to dominate the night. And there was
evening and there was morning on THE 5TH
DAY. God created the living creatures both the sea and flying creatures
according to their kind. Then, with this God blessed them by saying “Be fruitful and become many and fill the water of the sea, and let the flying
creatures become many on earth. Then, on THE 6TH DAY, God said let us make man in our own image,
according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of sea and
the flying creature of heaven and domestic animals and all the earth and every
creeping animal that is moving on the
earth. And God went on to create man in His image; and in God’s image, He
created him: Male and female. God blessed them; and said to them “Be fruitful and become many, fill the
earth and subdue it and have in subjection or dominion the fish of the sea and
the flying creatures of the heaven and every living creature that is moving on
earth.
Now, by the seventh day, everything
was completed, then God rested from all His hard work. Now, we are able to
establish the origin of the days and owner of the days. But apart from diverse
activities on the sundry days of the week, what are we expected to do for owner
of the days for these good works? We know that God does not eat human food, if
then, that is true, what does God eat? God eats glory and praises as His diet (Revelation 4:11), this is why when you
act in this capacity, God will begin to shower His blessings on you (Exodus 23:25). So, what days are
expected to render this food supply to God in abundant? Religious people said
only on Sundays which is the day of His rest, that is 50% correct but God demands
our praises every day, whenever you have the opportunity to do that. Though,
Sunday are special day mapped out for that, but we need to offer Him His food
supply every day, especially when we have the opportunity to do so, no wonder
King David praises God seven times per a day. In conclusion, having established
facts, let us call it a day. Long lives ministry of humanitarian affairs, Long
lives Nigerian Pilgrimage; long lives federal Republic of Nigeria, Long live
Nations of the world.
