ARTICLES TITLE: COMMON SENSE IN A MAN

Sensory can be defined as any powers of the body by which a person is conscious of things; then, we can say these are sensory organs of smell, sight, hearing, taste and feeling which are the nose, eyes, ear, tongue and skin. These are the five sensory organs in a human body. So we can still say that sense is that part of the body concerned in producing sensation as normal state of the mind; and that is when you say that one is intelligent; perfect response to stimulus.

 

Now, having established what sense is all about; let us look at commonsense in a man as an attribute or quality of wisdom. Deploying the Holy Bible as a case study to the topic; we know that a sensible person is one that is capable of proving Himself to be discreet or careful personality, one who naturally does not give room to chances that might throw him off balance; especially when it comes to affairs of surviving in life and destiny. We say that such persons are very wise and careful. This is one of the qualities that distinguished David from other King’s servant in the King’s palace. One that is careful and tactful in what He/she says and does is said to be sensible. It was recorded that David behaved himself wise even when King Saul tried to cease craftiness to capture him (1 SAMUEL 18:14-23). So he first behaved himself wisely by being careful; then God backed him up; and he became successful in all he does. Now, the wisdom to excel comes by being sensible, especially to the moves of the spirit of God. You can never be faster or sharper than the spirit of God.

 

Now, the question remains where and how can we apply our common sense as discretion? PROVERB 22:3 says “A prudent man foresees danger and hides himself but the simple man pass on and are punished.” Your common sense is that instinct that tells you the wrong and the right things to do; sometimes you need not anybody to teach you this wisdom, but the spirit of God will take you through experience in life to know the right and the wrong ways; as well as  things to do. (JEREMIAH 31:31-34), note that word: “they will no longer teach each other to know the Lord”, there are things human wisdom can never teach you except divine wisdom that comes by the spirit of God. And these are basics for common sense. That is why when one does not have this common sense. He or she looks stupid to the society at last. The opposite of common sense is foolishness; in a nutshell, common sense means initiative application and wisdom. This is why PROVERB 16:16 says “Better to get wisdom than gold,” why? Because wisdom is a defense just as money is a defense (ECCLESIASTES 7:12) but the Excellency of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to them that has it. ECCLESIASTES 10:10 says that wisdom helps to achieve success. So, your common sense is an attribute of wisdom that when you apply it in anything you are doing; you will actualize effective and productive results. The benefits you may be getting from any sector of your life  is as a result of the common sense you applied to do something extra ordinary, especially things that yields financial results and security. So, your business outfit is an evidence of your common sense and applied initiatives as well as creativity in career and destiny. Your success in life relies on wisdom you applied as a man, no wisdom or common sense, no result, why? This is as a result of planting no seed that will yield result as harvest when the harvest time comes, and such seed can be an investment opportunity. When you are in a position to invest your resources and you did not do that, please stop expecting harvest because you did not plant anything to reap.

Now, we have known how to invest our wisdom; but where should we invest it? Some invest it in artistic creativities while others invest it in scientific research and production. But in all, the end product or result is financial harvest. In conclusion, let us know how to apply our initiatives as well as when and where to apply it for a daily productive returns; just as it is written in Mathew 24:45-47; Jesus asked “Who really is the faithful and discreet servant whom his Master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that servant; if his master on coming back finds him doing so, true I said to you, he will appoint him over much or all his belongings. Jesus said in Mathew 24:48 : “but if ever that evil slave says in his heart, “My master is delaying; and he starts to beat his fellow slaves and to eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, the master of that servant or slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in the hour, he does not know, and he will punish Him with the greatest severity and will assign him his place with hypocrite. This is where his weeping and gnashing of teeth will be, from this illustration Jesus narrated, your common sense will tell you that we are stewards on this planet earth; to render account to our master Jesus one day. So, death is imminent but none knows his day of misfortune; but the wise will always be ready for that. Looking also at the illustration of the ten (10) virgins, it was recorded the five (5) were wise while five (5) were foolish: (MATHEW 25:1-13), now what makes them wise? They were wise because they never gave room to chances that will chance them out of their glorious destiny; for example: by being lazy to do what they are supposed to do when opportunity strikes. That means being ready for everything you want to achieve or execute; don’t say that you don’t have or acquired what it takes to do anything you want to achieve both in business world and academics as a destiny. Please stop giving excuses and start doing something, don’t say I am certificate deficiency and that is the reason I did not get the Job. I did collect my own certificate because of finances or debt to settle in school, but I went to the School authorities and got a covered official letter to prove everything I did with a supporting transcript records as well as supporting court affidavits that enabled them do that.

 

In conclusion, the common sense wisdom said that you should learn to be ready for every opportunity in life and destiny as well as shun excuses because you are inexcusable for your failure.

ARTICLES TITLE: THE BROAD ROAD STREET

 

 

A broad Road Street is a western Land mass of street with large breadth of pedestal movement, scaling the land mass is an environment surrounded with business and traffic activities. Though, full of activities but with well-defined and organized Road signs signals; gazing the scope of the land mass from on high towers are sights of flits of cars which can be counted as well as regulated by the roads signs traffic and mobile police officers to supervise and track road traffic rules breakers. The police men supervise the speed rate of every car to make sure that their car’s speedometer range in movement are accurate as specified in their traffic rules and law; and anyone that goes contrary to the traffic rules and law will be apprehended to pay fines immediately. These settings are mainly seen in Western world like Europe and United State; cities like Hartford, Washington D.C, New York, Texas and London etc. have this setting of Road attribute as their model to securities from accidental crashes.

 

Now, the question remains “What kind of activities that goes on, in the “BROAD ROAD STREET?”, you can sight the mobile Policemen packed at the junctions; monitoring with gadget: “the speedometer range of flits of cars as well as supervising the traffic rules and making sure they are well obeyed. Then, the pedestrians are expected to deploy the fly over bridge to cross to the other end or the opposite side of the road; as hawkers on pedestrian are expected to handle the road with tidiness; while the civil road workers are effortlessly sweeping and packing refuse or waste to dump them into sewage dump insulating machine where they are being recycled to form raw materials for other official product manufacturing and further usage. The unique thing here is that, in such system, no material is a waste and every scrab and outdated scientific products are easily recycled to produce a new one.

 

Supermarkets and Carwash stations can be sighted as hustling and bustling activities like hotels, restraint, Cinema shows, Music and concert stage movement, motels etc. go on right inside as indoors activities to the entertainers of the motels and Hotels out sketched the main Broad Road Street while the echoes and blaring of their activities can be heard from the street base. Though with neat and conducive environment atmosphere free from pollution of automobile gas (CO₂) Carbon (iv) Oxide exits from car exhaust pipes and industrial hazard Gases as buying and selling progresses and becomes very appetizing to drinkers and provision dealers.

 

The Broad Road Street is an adage for exuberance, hospitality, entertainment, trade fairs etc. But one may not meet up with all its demands to this effective environment; based on this, we just need to be selective: “counting on colorful trading of clothes as boutique shops, food stuff supermarkets, car dealers stands, phone models stores, Laptops and Printing Machines shopping mores etc. and the combination of essential commodities and homemade furniture in show rooms makes the street more attractive to seize strangers pocket and render it pocket less, but one need to discipline his/her appetite with control measures lest he/she ends up bankrupt in a city of strange country.

 

Other artistic activities can be sighted as well, like the hotel show entertainers, singers, sculptures and images of Late Heroines and Heroes of the late centuries as monument for remembrance etc. going further from there, down the Broad Road Streets is a deemed cross bridge that links the street to another Island. Standing from the top of the bridge pedestrian Culvert is a beautiful scene sight of sea sides activities viewed from the top of the pedestrian route of the Broad Road Street bridge; what are the activities like? The blues evening swimmers sharing drinks on top of the sea or rivers sitting on their balloons floating, it is a moment of evening celebration. These are the major blues that makes the whole show interesting.          But coming to your sense, one can say that life can be interesting and sweet but very expensive when one gets close to a street like Broad Road Street. The question remains, “Can you afford it?” It is for Nigerian Billionaires to feature; but American millionaires to enjoy.

 

Life is a choice, the better choice will determine a better tomorrow; he who wants to be a millionaire will start counting the cost from today. It is very easy to envy and admire a life of Billionaires, but can you afford it? Sit down and count the cost to become one tomorrow. Note:  Frivolous life styles are for those that have arrived, but for a beginner, watch and be careful because the life of a charlatan does not have a regret even at 50 years; life is eatable and drinkable without resourceful result or investment. Mind your association and make meaning out of the little in your hands as labored one; get back to your drawing board and keep planning for the right destination because you have not gotten what it takes to be here. Enjoy the sight of the Broad Road Street and shun the activities; so that you can succeed. Be wise and learn with discipline; because there are better days ahead to future investment and productivity. Don’t waste the capital; utilize the capital; for the capital is an opportunity but once in life. Who will give you? Especially when you waste your valuable and fundamental capital assets to meet the business demands in the society?

 

To crown it all, you have what it takes to climb the ladder to your destiny; but Broad Road Street activities can be appetizing, shine your eyes and cut your coat according to your size. For opportunity comes but once. Your stand in life may not be in Broad Street but the experience of Broad Road Street is an Iron sharpener to greater aspiration in life and destiny. Let us call it a day.

ARTICLES TITLE: WHEN THE GOING IS GOOD FRIENDS

 

Having deliberated on silence killers, we cannot talk of silence killers without touching WHEN-THE-GOING-IS-GOOD Friends. Now the question remains: who are these WHEN-THE-GOING-IS-GOOD Friends? How can we identify them? But before answering these questions we have to know what friendship is all about, we can define friendship as a type of association whereby we derive one benefit or the other depending on the type of friendship; like we have different types of friendship like:

(1)             Casual Friends

(2)             Mutual Friends

(3)             Intimate Friends

(4)             Soul Mates

(5)             Sugar-Coated-And-Watering-Friends

(6)             When-The-Going-is-Good Friends

 

But before we proceed with the main topic, we are going to ponder much on the bone of contention in friendship or the main thing that makes friendship grows to higher standard. Now, when you are not getting any benefit from a relationship; what will you do? You will cut it off without wasting time; especially if that type of relationship is demanding many responsibilities from you like financial supports, creativities, connections etc. and you end up giving everything but you are not receiving anything in return as your benefits; then what will you do? You will terminate such relationship or friendship because you feel being used and abused. Now, when you continue in such friendship; people will deem you to be stupid and uneducated, why? It is because people that are treated like that are seen as those that suffer from a disease called inferiority complex which sometimes is a morale misbehavior of people that comes from poor financial family background which impose on them lack of self-esteem. Now, the benefits you are expected to get from any type of friendship are:

(1)             Financial supports

(2)             Career opportunities and development

(3)             Skills acquisitions

(4)             Love

(5)             Human Right support/Security

(6)             Health/Healthy related supports

(7)             Business Plan Development and supports

(8)             Family Building

(9)             Shelter/necessities supports

(10)        Authority and Power influence etc.

 

Now, these are basic things one should be expecting in a relationship depending on the type of friendship. But when you are not getting two out of any of such support from one you call a friend; instead you are the one giving everything in the friendship. You need to disconnect from such friendship; especially when it comes to opposite gender or sex; it is highly dangerous, I know someone that receive beating upon every support she renders without getting anything in return. If you are in such position; how will you react? For her; she said that she wanted to take it to another level, but she cannot condone the insult and beatings, so she had to disconnect before it is too late for her. But for the same gender; it can be a tolerant issue; especially when one is trying to carry the other along; so that when He picks up; He will in turn pay him back in cash or in support for development. And that is called training.

 

The above statement forms the basis for our deliberation on what is called “WHEN-THE-GOING-IS-GOOD” Friendship. You see this type of friendship amongst same gender affairs; it concerns those that want to use others to shine in life; it is also called USE-AND-DUMP relationship or friendship similar to casual friendship but there is a “bone of contention” that is pulling one close to the other; and the bone of contention may be finances or wealth especially which he wants to help to liquidate. And once that “bone of contention” does not exist or is no more there, the other party that is being pulled or attracted will begin to change like chameleon, until his true colors appear; and the next thing is looking for nasty faults to desert and run away. This is why; WHEN-THE-GOING-IS-GOOD friends are also called friends at distance. You will only see them surface when you make money or when things is happening around you. They will surface with their tricks to sap you like blood sucker and when your wealth vanish; they will all disappear through the windows in a twinkling of an eye. And when they come as unexpected visitors as relations; you will see them carry their bags and throw them through the window when you are not around; and you are coming back home to see their written notes or letter of departure which they did not tell you, why? It is because they have accomplished their mission. It is not every relation you invite to live with you; some of them are sent agents to target you and your progress as well as bring you down (PROVERB 14:20). I could remember that my friends deserted me the day I lost my Job in NBL PLC Ama in 2004/2005.

 

Now, having known what this type of friendship is like; what should normal friendship be like before graduating to intimate, soul mate and mutual friendship? (PROVERB 17:17), deploying the Holy bible as a case study, say: “A true friends shows love at all time, even more than a brother” can we prove it? Yes, we can prove it with the relationship between Jonathan (King Sou’sl Son) and David (I SAMUEL 18:1), it was recorded that as soon as David had finished speaking to Soul, Jonathan and David became bound together in close friendship; and Jonathan began to love him as himself. From that day; soul kept David with him and he did not allow him to return to his father’s house. And Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as himself, Jonathan took off the sleeveless coat that he wore and gave it to David along with his gear, his sword, his bow and his belt. Then, David began going out and was successful wherever Soul would sent him. This is a normal friendship outfit, which is also called mutual friendship because they benefit each other. Even, when they will have issues, they will settle it amicably because wounds inflicted by a friend are faithful (PROVERB 37:6).

 

Now, who is your friend? It is true that some persons don’t have friends because of ugly experience; but why? Some friends are not friend but fiend (meaning terror), may be because of betrayal as a nature, remember Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus disciple that sold him with thirty pieces of silver ate with him on the same dish; but at last handed him over to Jewish Soldier with kisses. You have to be careful with such friends that love money more than life; they are ready to sacrifice you in order to make money. This is why endemic corruption in the society had made people to shy away and deviate from true friendship because of betrayal experiences.  No wonder David said in PSALM 55:12; that it was not an enemy who taunt him, otherwise He could put up with him; it is not a foe who has risen up against him; otherwise He could hide himself from him. But it is you, a man like him, His own companion whom He knows well. They use to enjoy a warm friendship together into the house of God, they used to walk along with multitudes. Have you suffered such betrayal as David did? If you have not, you are not yet great. But if have suffered it, count it a privilege and beware of WHEN-THE-GOING-IS-GOOD friends.

ARTICLES TITLE: THE SILENCE KILLERS

 

The silence killer can be defined as a killer without signs, demand notice or symptoms; it is a killer that takes unaware, it can come as a hidden sickness, a friendly assassinator, a poison instigator etc.  If you should be careful for anything this year, don’t neglect the activities of silence killers because they are always at your door seeking ways to execute their incumbent plans. Any opportunity you give them; they will quickly deliver their incumbent and cooked delicious-malicious plans so that they can take upper hands in your affairs of life and destiny. All in the name of amassing wealth for themselves; but it does not all favor like that, forgetting that there is after effect or nemesis to any injustice in the place of justice.

 

The Silence killer can be seen as a rat that said “Just keep working for me while I am asleep and when I wake up, I will grab all in a platter of gold at my risk” or when you are done, I will plot your secret execution and take over your dreams because you are too hungry to have your dreams actualized. But that is a wicked language because one has not seen where the monkey is laboring and the Baboon will come to harvest the fruits and enjoy them; such is an awkward injustice in the society that should be tackled with diligent before it is too late or gone out of hands. Based on this platform, I prophesy into your life this year: “your good plans and aspiration will never attract assassinators, armed robbers, fraudsters etc. that will come and make fabricated laws contrary to divinity and sections of Nigerian constitution as well as seeking approval from the authorities as in the days of Daniel just to have you executed as Daniel was thrown in the Lion’s Den

(DANIEL 6:1-END). All these efforts was just to make sure that you are laid to rest with those aspiration and don’t succeed in executing them. This is why they are called the silence killers.

 

 Now, deploying the Holy Bible as a case study to this effect: Daniel was once the victim of Silence killers and secret executioners (DANIEL 6:1-END); we can cite how the official and satraps, those expected to attract respect were seeking occasion to accuse Daniel but they could not find any fault. So, they have to establish a law against his prayers in His room, now, the crime they committed before God was that they went to deploy His activities in his private domain and made it a public law against him in his house, even contrary to section 37 of Nigerian constitution today. But, for the fact that the King was deceived and assented to their bill for anyone that commits such crime of praying in his room without knowing that the setup was against Daniel and when Daniel became the victim of the law, it was late for the King to make amendment to the law. So, Daniel have to face the consequence of going in to the Lion’s Den but with a condition that if He survives it; his accusers and those that plotted the coup will be tested with the same lion’s Den. Now, did Daniel succeed the effect and dangers of the Lions? Find it out yourself. Now in a nutshell, the silence killers succeeded but there was a divine intervention that turned the whole game upside down, now, how do you see the turn around? And that is the power of God at work.

 

So the powers of silence killers are limited in your life and destiny today because your creator is at work in your affairs. Just as I said: they are killers without demand notice, court order or injunction statement from the court etc. contrary to section 33 of Nigerian constitution. Taking laws into their hands by local demand and opinions of masses even if it is against the laws of the federation, they want it to succeed the constitutional agreement. Note: We are not operating military regime where ruler ship is by sanction and tyranny; but we are in Democracy where ruler ship is by the opinion of the masses embedded in the constitution as a law. It is only in military that you are permitted to rule by decree or power and one can be dictator in his leadership but democratically government must go by laid down principles that accorded the constitutional body; approved by state and Federal house of assembly and representatives to become a law after presidential signatory.

 

So, it is important that we learn to poison those silent killers that had abandoned their duties to hunt over other people’s dreams like a rat with knowledge of the truth and Excellency demanded from the truth. Because without it, they must succeed in their propaganda and allegation tricks to execute their fraudulent wishes and intentions, how do you know silence killers? They are good in coup plotting; always ready to execute on an incumbent plans. These are selfish enemies of progress that always wanting to succeed their plans to the failure of the targeted victims or deemed opponents. Their destinies are surrounded with efforts and tricks of using the unfortunate one as a ladder to the aspired thrones; even, when they are not qualified to be there.

 

Now, craftiness is one of their strength to climb the ladder of destiny, the simple test question for these calibers of personalities are: “are you a ghost worker as a civil servant or are you a skilled worker?” The answer you give to this question will determine your stand because some people are good in using others to shine. And when you ask them questions based on their career course path; they will fail yet they are graduate and are occupying high positions in their offices with intimidation and IM. These caliber are good in knowing top high positional leaders/ personalities that they can use or deploy to maneuver things when the need arise; especially when they encounter opposition because they lack professionalism to defend their skills. Always full of excuses why they are not at work. As a civil worker, they will take permission for someone to sign for their present in the office while they engage themselves in their selfish dealings; especially to use one or two persons to succeed. And when you ask them how they make their money? They will tell you 20 business transactions they have executed that gave them that money which is nowhere to be found, yet fraudulent without documentary evidence. Tracing their transactions, you will notice it to be fraudulent. Though, some people call them business tycoons, but if that behavior is business strategy. I don’t encourage it because it is fraudulent and dangerous.

 

Now, who is a business man? A business man to my understanding is a man or a woman that has commodities or potentials to offer for sale to his/her targeted clients. If it is not a potential; it must be a commodity. Anything short of this is deemed to be suspicious. Now, what are the potentials like? We can classify the potential for business sales and exhibition into scientific or artistic potentials. Any potential that does not fall in here is not a potential. The artistic potentials are Music waxing (records), Film shooting, Adverts, photographers, fashion and designing, Tailoring/seamstress, Publishing and book sales etc. while scientific potentials are ICT potentials, Production, innovation and development potentials. For example, the building and road construction skills, Automobile manufacturing and repairs skills, information and Communication Technology (ICT) gadgets manipulation skills (Computer, laptops, Phones, Note book and networking skills), chemical mixture for production skills like soap, creams, detergents and cosmetics, food and beverages processing and manufacturing skills, Bakery skills etc. Any transaction that does not render such services like these ones mentioned to humanity can never be classified as business.

 

Human trafficking is never a business but a crime under slave trade contrary to section 369 of criminal code of Nigeria constitution, prostitution is never a business but a social vice that attract anti-corrupt practices commission and other related offenses (ICPC), Indian hemp Drug addiction is a habit as well as Gay practices is a sexual habit. Now, the question remains, can these effect be curbed in the society? No, it is very difficult because some of these habits are instinctual by nature; but the crime there is ceasing it as a means of making money is a wrong idea; especially contrary to section 419 of Nigerian constitution. The Gay practices in Nigeria is prohibited effective from 2014 and though the society has ceased it as a means to induce their victims to deliver properties to them which they might deem as pretense because the law forbid it at last in Nigeria. This is why one should desist from it or the nemesis of section 214 to 217 of Criminal code will gain ground on such person. Signed by ex-president Goodluck Jonathan to be passed into law in 2014 with punishment measures, not less than 10 years imprisonment for those that engage in its marriage, there are other section that condemns the supporter and sponsors with 10 to 14 years imprisonment; especially the ones that weds them and the one that allows himself to be used for such is liable to 14 years imprisonment. The question remains, will Nigeria still lift the ban? Who knows, but for now, it is still a crime. Unless the house sits back and amend the punishment’ if not one is committing a crime. Now, you can succeed with that in Europe and America but not in Nigeria, why? Their constitution encourages it with all pleasure.

ARTICLES TITLE: WHEN THE DAYS OF STORMS ARE OVER

We were made to understand in our previous article that the sounds of the Sundry days are dressed in 50% Khaki and 100% focus. But mind you that is not the ultimate end of discussion because there are storms like: no food, no money, house rent expires, school fees accumulated, no Job, storms from friends and deemed well-wishers etc. If you are in such shoe or condition; what will be your next agenda? Borrowing? Who will help out? It is a state of confusion and devastation. But with prayers and focus; you will emerge a victor at the end. The genuine steps you take in such condition to overcome are a remarkable experience to educate the society. Why? So many people has dirtied their hands in such conditions just to meet up; yet that does not solve the problem at the end rather it brings up other strange problems that are hard to solve. Now, are you making progress or deteriorating based on this? Look! every experience is a test and the ones you maneuver with trick and gimmicks will repeat itself; so stop compromising standards, it does not work like that because every test you doge will return through the window. Some people are forced to prostitution as females because of such conditions and others are forced to stealing as male even to high way robbery because of such condition; just to meet up targets. But the question remains “How have you contributed to help in motivating people that are faced with such challenges of negative experience in life and destiny”?  Do you join the band wagon of mockers to increase and inflict more pains on them? Or do you adopt a consoling approach to solve their problem? Mind you, nobody is exempted and anybody can be a victim of these sayings. There are those that will keep passing judgment on the victim of these saying until they go down, but still there are good Samaritans that will comfort them by meeting basic necessities like food, shelter, jobs etc. the way you treat such people will also tell in your own destiny (PSALM 69:33) and (GALATIAN 2:10).

 

Look! Nobody is above such condition, why? Because the power to make wealth comes from God (I SAMUEL 2:8) and (DEUTRONOMY 15:11). So knowing full well that the power to riches is from God; why must you join the wagon that inflict pains on the less privileged ones? And that is the only thing that make people to identify a man or a woman as a wicked personality (PSALM 10:1-END), mind you, everybody on planet earth; has a specific time in destiny to face and withstand storms and because of compromise; people does not stand the test of the fire that accompanies it. Look! Until gold passes through the refining firing furnace; it is never gold. Not solid, so there is a time for the storm in every destiny; but people pray that their own storm will come when they are strong to overcome it and that is at the early stage in life. So, if you have not witnessed it; you are still a chicken (ECCLESIASTES 3:1- 11).

 

When the days of storms are over, there is Joy and jubilation; it shows that the mercy of God has prevailed over every divine judgment (ISAIAH 41:17-20). So, God is about turning things around for those that will trust him, his mercy and truth because the storms are for some moments and season and they will be over (LAMENTATION 3:22-27). This is also a natural phenomenon for everyone that must amount to anything in life and destiny because when the storms do not swallow you; it must push you up better than you were.

 

Now, what is your storms experience like? Who came to your refuge or rescue? Nobody? Then, how did you survive the storms? Is it by God’s divine intervention? The answers you give to these questions will determine your next altitude in life and destiny. Why the storms are good sometime is that it brings out your hidden creative nature if you did not compromise standard; it is during storms in life that some people discover their creative nature and use it as an avenue to conquer the evil winds that came with the storms in life. I knew people that their scientific and artistic talents nature which they never knew they possessed manifested during their storms in life and they deployed it as an avenue to conquer the effect by being creative and before you know it money will naturally begin to flow from that angle. This is why people becomes artistic like singers, writers, movie producer, portraits craft makers, others becomes scientific as repairers of Television sets, Computers, GSM Phone, Cars etc. that is the creative nature the storms push them to start up what is extra ordinarily impossible for a person that is in good condition of living to indulge. But that is the sharpest steps to survive the effect of the storms in life and destiny.

 

While on the other hand, people had become skillful and semi-skillful as tailors/seamstress, Bakers, Weavers, Cooks and hotel managers because of such ugly conditions; even as a professional, there are those that could not cope in their professions as Engineers especially because they lack the practical experience/expertise due to poor educational system in the under developed world. But when they engage themselves in semi-skilled work, especially in management position, managing people’s business as supervisors just to meet up and cope with the storms effects.

 

Now, how can we conclude that the days of storms are over? The conclusion is that your daily and monthly income based management assessment is capable of settling your bills, providing you with shelter and food without an external assistance or intervention. So, this is what it means that your economic standard of living has improved. So, today can you say that your days of storms are over? If no, then do something creative to better your economy. You can become a publisher like books and journals, a baker, a singer, a sculptor as well as painter and graphics designer etc. to turn thing around. The ball of the game is in your court to make decisions as you desire and go about it.

ARTICLES TITLE: SOUNDS OF THE SUNDRY DAYS

Having deliberated so much on Sundry days of the week, as well as understood its activities, but the question remains “how do the sundry days sound?” We already know that Sundry days are any other days apart from weekends, now, “how do that day sound?” Some said that the days are ringing “Opportunity is dressed in khaki”, the khaki is a symbol of hard work, “but can one prove this sounds to be right?” yes, 50% right and 50% wrong, then why? Because not all that work hard on Sundry days have a good financial result to show for their hard work. Then, what is the right answer and definition to the sounds of the sundry days? I suggest that the right answer to the sounds of the Sundry days is “Opportunity dressed in focus”. Now, what is focus? Focus is a state of not losing concentration on a subject or object or control or discussion, like today, what is your major concentration to move ahead in life and destiny? When you discover that, this is the right time to go about it. Not necessarily being Jack of all trade but master of non, if you are the type every dick and harry can pull off from your dream and aspiration to move forward in life and destiny to a forced labor you have not dream for yourself for a living even contrary to section 34 of Nigerian constitution; you lack what is called focus or concentration as well as weak in pursuit of your desire. The Holy Bible said that the eyes of a wise man are in his head (Ecclesiastes 2:14.). No wonder Mathew account in the same Holy Bible said “that the lamp of the body is the eye and if then your eyes is focused, your whole body will be bright. But if your eyes are envious, your whole body will be dark. And that is why, if the light that is in you is darkness; how great that darkness is (MATHEW 6:22-23).So the definition that “Opportunity is dressed in focus” is 100% accepted definition because when you are focused, you will even exercise patient to acquire skills or improve on the one at hand; especially as a professional or semi-skilled worker.

 

Now, this marks the difference why people work hard like Elephant and eat like ant while others work like Ant and eat like Elephant; why? Because of skills differences; for example: you can never rate the income earning of a technician to a Barrow pusher, the differences are clear even if they have the same academics qualifications. Neither will you rate the income of a trader to a concrete mixer even if they are both uneducated. Now, the difference is that the trader undergoes training under someone in a particular deal like electronics, Clothing, Fashion Jewelries, Spare parts, Upholstery, essential commodities etc. may be for 5 years under a tutor as an agreement to become a servant to the tutor who will settle him financially for those period of 5 years he was serving the tutor; so that He can be able to stand and start building His own business on the same line. This type of transaction is common in Igbo land, especially in Onitsha the commercial city as of 70s and 80s, but because of Civilization and the quest for knowledge and education in the society; such dealings are fizzling out in the society because everybody wants his kids to go to University and acquire what it takes to be CEO and company owners; all in management courses. But, such transaction, irrespective of limitations to it, is still deemed as what it takes to be focused if one does get a genuine person that will dance to the agreement and transaction without a court case at the end of one’s service, this is where such transaction is highly dangerous because you cannot sacrifice your life for 5 years and 6 serving someone and you go empty handed to and start your own. And that is why the society deems it as foolish transaction. And such ideas are neglected today because of civilization and development, but before it was prevalent activity in the Onitsha the commercial city as well as Nnewi, in Anambra state. And this is what it means to be focused. I schooled in Ogidi, at Onitsha, I knew so many people that are shipping containers as undergraduates in Onitsha today as well as doing other international transactions they learnt from someone they served as a trade, building house and estates as a commercial lease. This is where focus is qualified. Now, how do the sundry days sound? Khaki or Focus? Choose one.

 

Now, having established this sound, let us ask this simple intelligent quotient question, “How many skills have you acquired even as a graduate or a professional?” or do you lay all your eggs in one basket as a civil servant without skills? Receiving fat salary does not solve the problem when you don’t possess the skills to utilize it. If so, how will you dispense your earnings in the business world? Even after retirement, you need a skill to sustain, why? It is because we have accumulated retired graduate in queue waiting for pension every month; which they sometimes end up not receiving farthing from the Federal government until death, some has received their accumulated pension debt to their children because they are late already. So are you planning to join the queue? Stop being Jacky and start being focused in life and destiny. Focused demands that you become a skilled personality or professional ready to defend and prove your proficiency to any level or ramification in the world when you are being called to show case your models. You can see today that people are no-more practicing what they read in the University as a course and that is what it takes to be focused in life for wise ones that understand and such steps demands tedious hard work. And also because there is no room for dull moment; looking at the labor force or market today; it is highly competitive: a lot of graduates with their NYSC discharge certificates are in queue searching for a white kola Job but to no avails. The worst is that they are pumping out every year; but no vacant to accommodate even the qualified ones. And this is why self-employed has become the game of every wise graduate; just by acquiring skills and developing on them with hard work and patient. Your dream will come through. This is why you must be focused to create your own business as a graduate and a professional like Engineer, Accountant, and Public Administrator etc. Stop being Jacky as a person and start being focused by getting skills for yourself as well as better your condition.

 

PROFICIENCY TEST: If you come to my office and I ask you “what you can do as a job, and if you answer me “Anything”, I send you back because I don’t have anything to offer you as a Job. This is how you know people that are not skilled, semi-skilled or professional. And when you employ them in your office, they will constitute ghost workers to the organization because they are not disciplined to handle anything. You keep on having losses because such people can never take their job serious; they will come to work anytime they like and go the same way; especially in large organization where there are massive workers. But a skilled and semi-skilled worker knows what he/she is coming to do every day because ones position is sensitive one. And once they are absent it will affect the company that day, and those things make them to take their Jobs serious. This is why companies give out all those unnoticed positions as a contract to other sub-contractors that are expertise in monitoring them like security, gardeners, cleaners etc. are being leased out on contract basis and once the contractors did not meet up the demands of the company. The company’s controllers will terminate the contract.

 

Still on proficiency test, for example, approach a PLC company and their Human Resources Manager (HRM) asks you “What can you do for us?” and you say “Accounting”, he will give you attention, even if the vacant is already occupied by another person. And if the vacant is open, the next question is where your CV is and credentials are? If you have them ready and submitted, He will schedule interview both oral and written test, when you excel in both interview and medical checkup, they will give you your employment or acceptance letter and place you in a department you deserve. In that acceptance letter are your salary, remuneration and entitlements as well as codes of conduct that protect you and your Job. If when you break, you will receive a warning letter from the management of the company. Some company will place you on what is called probation for 3 months before confirmation as full staff. But that is irrelevant because it is an attempt to make you buckle up and be serious with your Job. Now, supposed you come and they ask you “what can you do for us as a graduate?” and you say “Anything” may be as a business administrator. I may not give you attention because you supposed to have one business request, even if it is to become a supervisor in one department or you demand for a contract if you are sure of what you read and are ready to defend it. Also, some companies offer their raw material purchases and supplies on contract basis to registered contractors; so you can register as a contractor so that you will be eligible to have quota to supply monthly or annually as a business administrator. With these points; you will conclude that the sounds of Sundry days are like opportunity dressed 100% in focus and 50% khaki.

ARTICLES TITLE: THE CUSTODIAN OF CHOICES

The choices you make in life are embodiment of our integrity, prestige, honor, humanitarian care and development etc. But that does not deprive us the right to ownership to those choices we made, even in the face of oppositions, why? Because every choice you make in life is under your custody to control, manipulate and execute to an end. Now, who is the Custodian of the choices? You that had made the choice have every right to protect it. Even God himself gives man free will to make their own choices, deploying the Holy Bible as a case study to this article, according to GENESIS 12:1 God instructed Abraham that he should go out of His Kindred and relations to a land that He is sending Him; though, it was not his choice but He had to obey the voice of God to the divine instruction which came because of a specific assignment. When he departs, his Nephew Lot by name joins him to travel; but that was not God’s original plan that Lot should join him. God’s original plan was that Abraham should depart alone. Now, the consequence is that on their way to the destined land. Abraham’s herdsmen began to have hassles with Lot’s herdsmen as well as other frictions that made God to tell Abraham that He should separate from Lot His Nephew. And that instruction; though was very difficult to Abraham to make, but because it was divine, Abraham took a bold step to separate from Lot (GENESIS 13:5). So, Abraham asked Lot to separate from him by showing him two ways direction to a strange land and asking him to choose from the two road directions which are right direction and left direction route to destination. So Lot raised His eyes to make His choice and saw that the whole district of Jordan was well-watered region like garden of Eden of God (Eden) as well as like the land of Egypt. So lot chose for himself the whole of district of Jordan and Lot moves his camp to the east. So they separated from each other. Abraham moves towards Canaan while Lot finally settles near Sodom. Now, the question remains: “Did he who chose the beautiful destination bears the consequences alone? Yes he did. Now, what was his experience like?  His experience was that the men of Sodom were wicked and gross sinners against God. And when God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for their wickedness; he delivered Lot because of His covenant with his brother Abraham. So, learn today that one is liable to the choices he/she makes in life and destiny. And that is why you don’t decide for others or another person close you or follow one to his destination because doing that make you an obstacle or stumbling block to them. It is only those that does not have plan for the future; that will decide for others and execute for them the dream. What you can seek is assistant to execute and don’t tolerate permission to execute.

 

Abraham, on the other hand, became successful immediately Lot separated from him as a brother. What happened? (GENESIS 1314) God said to Abram after Lot had separated from him “Raise your eyes and look from the place where you are, to the north and south, east and west because all the land that you see, I will give to you and your offspring as a lasting possession. And I will make your offspring like the dust particles of the earth, then your offspring could not be counted. Based on this fact, your choice destination in life is the major material that determines your destiny. You destiny is not in the hand of men and women, your destiny is in your own hands. The decisions you make to step out of your comfort zone to a desired destination can create a big difference.

 

Now, we have arrived to a point that destiny is all about choices we have made, what choices have you made early this year by prayers to move ahead in life? are you still in charge or in control of them ? or have they slipped out of your hands? Your choices to move ahead in life is the major element that controls how you do things’ it is a measure that controls how you work hard, when you wake up and sleep, the type of clothing you put on, the places you go for business, people you associate with etc. So, carefully look at those choices again and see if you are still on track or worth amendment. If not, be ready to become the custodian of those choices you made at the end of the day. Then, with prayers and hard work coupled with focus on divine direction, your dreams will come through. So many innocent ones have become victim of police custody in such circumstance because of this notorious description. But notwithstanding, there is still escape route to such wicked language whereby a street life is used as a language of description for blackmail. Now, let’s dive into experience of street lovers and discover their experience as well as use it as a measure to correct this ill notorious identity:

Now using South Africa and Nigeria as a case study; highlighting on popular music stars in South Africa like CHAKA-CHAKA AND BRENDA FACIE; though Brenda facie is now late but her records wax in the whole world as if she is still alive. Brenda Facie of South Africa was known as a popular music star that specializes in National or Country music. In South Africa; the records she waxed had earned her honorable national awards; even from her President Late Nelson Mandela for expertise in Country Music. Her biographic history identified her life experience as a street girl that struggled her ways to the top through music and became a star irrespective of her notorious identification; Brenda Created an unforgettable land mark in South Africa that makes people to remember her whenever they listen to her music. Now, as street girls, people expected some negative behaviors and attitudes like harlotry or prostitution. But mind you, no harlot can create a positive land mark on earth because you cannot eat your cake and have it. I mean, no harlot can create such good mark in destiny or be so diligent to the extent of waxing so many records of music that attracted the attention of the whole world as well as national honorable awards. Now, looking at such achievement; it takes prudency and hard work to emerge to such height in life and destiny. The discipline to achieve such aims and objective cannot give one room to meddle or mess up around.

 

Coming to Nigeria, there are also other so called street girls identity that had the same experience and through unrelenting musical talent show competition; they emerged as winners as well as stars to receive honorable awards like CHIDIMMA. So, today, what do you say about street life?  Are you still among those that condemn street boys and girls as non- entities? But, mind you that is where you can pick the greatest talented personalities in the society as well as professional is concerned. If you have watched “The Night of A thousand laugh” talent show, you will discover that all the features are 90% Warri street boys. And they make something meaningful out of such rugged life; especially to bless humanity with such talents. Now the question remains: “Do you still condemn the street boys and girls as non-entities? But, mind you, no scrab is useless in the hand of the owner because it will serve as spare parts one day; so is the destinies of such people to their God, their God being their owner or their potter will still mold them into their desired shapes and products with time and experience.

 

Another thing we have to know about the so called street life is that: “it is an environmental influence depending on the area. A street boy or girl groomed in Victoria Island Lagos can never be the same with Ajengunle in   Lagos; why? The radical lifestyle is never the same because the one in Victoria Island has at least seen the four walls of the University. So, also the street boys groomed in New Haven, Trans Ekulu, GRA and Independent Layout can never be the same with the one groomed in Obiagu, Abakpa and Coal Camp, in Enugu State, Nigeria. In the same way are their classical life and social circle as well as behavior.

 

Now, let us dive into movie industry to discover this from the Big boys and girls, especially the notable ones that had featured in Nollywood and outside Nollywood as actors/actresses of movie stars; and also know how their environmental grooming have contributed towards their career as actors and script writers. For instance, a nollywood actress, Director as well as producer from my own town as an in-law, who is now late has contributed immensely in movie industry in Nigeria Starting from Nigeria Television Authority (NTA)  Network in Lagos in 80s/90s as a producer handling contracts like Checkmate movie down to Nollywood before she passed on. Though, she is late, but her name and influence in Nollywood is still ringing as bail today because of notable achievements. The person I am talking about, her maiden name is Amaka Enenwaba while her marital name is Amaka Igwe. She was a writer, a producer as well as Director, even in nollywood she has written and acted several scripts after CHECKMATE and RATTLE SNAKE, LIKE FUJI HOUSE ON COMMOTION was one of her script which she acted successfully before she was ;late. Her Biography background tells that she was groomed in GRA Enugu, schooled at Girls High School, Awkunanw, studied Literature at UNIBEN as a course. She came from middle/upper class family, a cultural group competition organizer at OBIANGU town, being my town in Udi Local government Area every 27th December annually. This is how she had contributed to the welfare of her society before she was late. She has also received several national and international honorable awards for her good works. Though, not a street girl, but environmental influence made an impact to her career. So also are other nollywood actresses like Ini-edo, Genevive Nnaji, Lizz Benson, etc. that are popular, some of them, one time or the other has gone through street experience before emerging as a star. But does that notion disqualify them from honorable awards? No. Even in Modeling, the first Miss world Nigeria produced known as IGBANI DERIGO was one time in Port-Harcourt/ Bayelsa known as one that assist the mother in Frying Akara. But does such experience disqualify her in the international scene as a model?

So, the trials of the street boys and girls is never a permanent experience, but it is a passing phase, that every determined star and legend must go through; which builds in them an organizing ability, entrepreneurship, business tycoon abilities, political activist abilities, Actor/Actresses abilities etc. Without such experience, you may end up not emerging as a leader in your profession or aspiration to the society that builds you into a desired leader the society demands. So, it takes a hardwork, determination and discipline to conquer environmental opposition to emerge as a leader in your scientific and artistic aspiration.

Societal values can be defined as norms and believes that have attachments with culture which is the way of lives of a particular people or nation. Now, deploying  Nigeria as a case study to this article, we have to dive into Nigerian’s diverse tribal norms and believes that forms customary law; then selecting from those customary laws that are backed up by Nigerian constitution makes the laws, norms and believes to emerge as major societal values that governs the nation Nigeria. For example Child’s education is a priority in the Western, Eastern and Southern part of Nigeria; but not in the northern state because by Islamic laws and believes that emerge from their religion, child’s western education for women i.e. girls is highly prohibited and a debating issue as well as inhibited by Moslems staunch believe. This is why the BOKUHARAM terrorist stormed and invaded the Chibok girls secondary school in 2014 precisely and kidnapped the teenage girls till date, even after tremendous efforts to rescue them from the hand of the terrorists proved tough and unsuccessful, though some of them were partially released after inflicting them with so many pains and afflictions while the unlucky ones are still detained as their captives in an unknown territory within the Borders of West African countries,. Now, the question goes “Why did such thing escalated in the society?” And what measures can we adopt to curb such insurgency from re-occurring? The main Issue here is that the BOKUHARAM Terrorist are illiterates that see themselves as Activists based on Moslem’s norms and believes. The norm and believe that from Islamic religion/learning that western education to girls is a corruption to Islamic norms and believes which comprises Islamic learning, conducts, mode of dressing, worshipping Allah, fighting wars etc.. This is where their agitation starts as unlearned ones. But you should know that when one is wrongly inducted and informed in an informal learning process based on religious background, that person will begin to act in a capacity of knowledge one receives. Based on this, we have to sometime drop and shun religious practices; so that it does not interfere with formal way of doing things like formal education of world class standard as well as formal law as accepted by the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

 

So, you can never operate more than the information you gathered and that is why one should go for the right information. Send your kids to the right school where they will receive right highly accepted world class information as we have in Global learning today as an ICT world through INTERNET. One need to get information based on the right accepted societal values; why? The BOKUHARAM Terrorist who are seeing themselves as Activist proved their ignorant and illiteracy when the federal government made an offer to them to release the Chibok girls under their captivity; they turned down the offer from the Federal government showing and also to prove to people that their intention were not to extort money or make riches from government with those kids, neither did they engage in such activity for being hungry but they were acting in ignorant due to illiteracy of wrong information of fighting blind religious war. Relating this same issue with the Talibans of Afghanistan in Philippine; these groups were acting in the same capacity in Philippine as BOKUHARAM in Nigeria terrorizing as well as prohibiting girls formal education in Afghanistan., so they have similar objectives with BOKUHARAM Terrorist because they both share the same believe of forbidden female formal education in Philippine. The Talibans are terrorist in Philippine just as BOKUHARAM are terrorist in Nigeria. Now, there was a 12 years old girl named Malala in Philippine, whose father was a teacher but because she was very intelligent at that age, she became an addict writer and began to write to CNN and BBC against the activities of these Talibans toward child’s education in Philippines to the extent that she drew the attention of the whole world; especially United State to this effect. As a human right activists, Malala became the target of Talibans in Philippine for her activities as a blogger. She deployed her blog post fighting against the movements of Talibans in Philippine to stop female education. As I said earlier, she went to the extent of becoming one of BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) major writer on this issue in Philippine as well as CNN to the extent that prominent people in United state like Clinton daughter became aware of the contest and agitation of Talibans to stop female education in Afghanistan. Now, when the Talibans began to terrorize the young girl and her family by apprehending her father who was a teacher, this was after overpowering their government, on the process for the young girl to escape from their midst, they shot her on the head, before the united states emissaries sent by Clinton daughter arrives the scene with their private Jet to rescue her. Today, she is made the world women leader in United states as well as written several books on human right and women’s right. The US government sponsored her book with 4.5 million US Dollars during her birthday precisely in 2014.

 

Now, having established what we meant by societal values in Nigeria, another question is “What influence does these values holds on its citizens?” That is what we mean by the strength of societal value. We have cited on FEMALE EDUCATION in Nigeria, which also can be termed resulting from Gender Inequality practiced in some tribes in Nigeria. But the strength of the value this imparts in the society is very weak because most of them are not backed up by the constitution. Another norm and believe that had been deliberated even in the house of Assembly in Nigeria and thrown out with punishment measure as stated in Criminal code of Nigeria constitution Section 214 to 217 in 2014 is GAY MARRIAGE. The regime of President GOODLUCK JONANTHAN passed the bill into an existing law that “GAY MARRIAGE” is a crime in Nigeria, not outside Nigeria. Now, the question remains “what strength and influence does it holds 0n its citizen?” Looking at this critically, should not be a point of discussion in a political arena because it is a habit. Sometimes, not generally accepted one in the society. People sometimes term to have their privacy (Section 37 of Nigerian Constitution) and such decisions should not be disrespected, despised or molested, why? Nigerian constitution encouraged “right to privacy or right to private and family life”, they cannot be encouraging and discouraging privacy at the same time. Encouraging privacy means that you have the right to social and domesticated affairs in your privacy provided you are not stealing by trick, Assaulting or committing murder. So, the government is licensed to protect your interest as regard privacy once you are not committing crime; not to expose them to the public or abuse them. So, why discussing Marital Issues before political arena as a major law to govern a nation? I term such decision to be religious affairs, not formal or official matter but informal and should be discarded if possible; and should not be made a point of discussion in official duty. They should be treated as customary laws, because marriage is 90% customary law, especially in Nigeria where every tribe out of 250 tribes in Nigeria has their own norms and believes as custom towards marriage. Don’t it sound surprise to you that in Nigeria there are natives in Hausa land that still have Gay practices as a tradition? Even before the promulgated law in 2014 which banned it. In amended section 214, 215, 216 and 217; now, how have this influenced societal value in Nigeria? Is it a negative one or a positive one? Nigerian government sees it as a negative one because punishment measures are imposed in subsequent sections which made foreigner and investors in Nigeria from United states and Europe to travel back to their countries, and they are still contending that Nigerian government should lift the injection on Gay practices. So, what is supposed in the society is to respect the law because nobody is above the law of the constitution that governs Federal Republic of Nigeria. Per adventure you break the law and the police apprehend you as well as hand you over to judiciary for prosecution or judgment. If you are found guilty of the crime or offense; the judiciary will impose on you the adequate prescribed punishment measure for that offense as approved by the laws of the constitution of Fedeal Republic of Nigeria.

 

Still on the strength of the societal value in Nigeria as case study, is the issue of bribery and corruption; just as the Holy Bible said in the book of ECCLESIASTES 10:19; that money is the major answer to every affairs of life, including saving lives; but the abuse of authorities in Nigeria with money is endemic to the extent that people now has dropped the tradition of hardworking or official procedure to stealing by trick and IM. People believes so much in using their money to pass exams, win court case, intimidate authorities, buying positions, Assassinating opponents etc. contrary, to sections like criminal code section 364 to 366. And this is what forms the bed rock to bribery and corruption as a major negative societal value that has greatest negative influence to its citizens. I think as a nation, we have to come to a point where we should understand that occupying a position should not be a motive of public fund embezzlement. People so much believe that they are going to make so much money in occupying a position, especially in politics and that is what is liquidating our economy today. To curb such norms and believe that degenerate to corruption; everyone coming for a political post should undergo an intensive interview both state and federal in order to scrutinize motive, IQ, experience as well as positive and negative desire to create a permanent change in the society. If not, the economy will continue to liquidate until the right people are appointed to occupy the post.
