A JOINT MARITIME EXERCISE ORGANIZED BY NIGERIAN NAVY TITLED “OBANGAME EXPRESS 2017”.


The Nigerian Navy said those strips are more better equip to fight sea piracy in illegal oil Bunkering and other forms of communality on the nation’s senatorial waters. The flag officer commanding eastern Naval Command ROYAL ADMIRAL JAMES OLUWALE made this known at the end of the five days multinational Naval exercise in the Gulf of Guinea, tagged OBANGAME EXPRESS 2017.

According to the News Correspondent on the event who said that ROYAL ADMIRAL JAMES OLUWALE described the exercise as the Maritime interdiction aimed at enhancing and enforcing security in the region’s water way. The commander noted that the Nigerian Navy had been improved on strategies unlike the first OBANGAME exercise, when it was set to so many challenges. According to ROYAL ADMIRAL JAMES OLUWALE who explained that the exercise initially started with so many challenges where they were not able to muster the kind of things they are able to muster now. But today they have three ships taking part on this exercise; and another force is war declared to take on the expected row between the walls of Guinea.

ROYAL ADMIRAL JAMES OLUWALE said that with this exercise the Nigerian Navy would be more than ever to detect and check illegal activities in the Maritime domain. According to ROYAL ADMIRAL JAMES OLUWALE he said that they had been engaged and they had more access to execute on the Nigeria security domain between walls of the Guinea and behind the scene to the maritime patience center which is plan based where they got their information and confirmation is coming in and that is why they were able to do what they achieved today.

The commanding officer Nigerian Navy CHIEF UKPABANA, CAPTAIN ABDULLAMAN MOHAMMED was optimistic that the joint maritime exercise will enhance the information sharing and coordination between the Ship and Maritime operational center. According to commanding officer who explained that it will enhance operational center which they are used to, to include: information sharing, information gathering, coordination and trained intensive maritime operational center, according to him he said that it is timely information units.

The exercise between Nigerian NAVY and its FRENCH Counterpart should place around BAKASI , BRASS and LAGOS WATERS with the men of the Nigerian Naval special broad services rated very high in their performances.
