ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED “THE DWELLING DAYS OF THE YEAR”

The year is said to make up of 364 days and 365 days in case of leap years. Now, a leap year is calendar containing one additional day to the month of February which is meant to end by 28th day of the month but additional day to this particular month makes it 29th days which also makes the year leap year. Now, the dwelling days of the year is ascertained to be the days of relaxation and freedom of choice.

These dwelling days should be counted from weekends and public holidays. Using Nigeria as a case study, we have the days like the democracy day being 29th May of every year, the children’s day being May 27th of every year, the workers day being 1st May of every year, the Nigerian Independent commemoration day being 1st October of every year etc. All these coupled with weekends are dwelling days of the years in Nigeria, also other part of the world have their dwelling days as well.

Now, the question goes, what are we expected to do on these dwelling days of the year? Are they the days of making choices and relaxation? Now, some people use these days to visit friends and relations as well as exercise their voting right in case of election days where people exercise their franchise but though limited to house rest on voter’s days is an opportunity to relax and have a good sleep as well as listen and watch media news to know the outcome of the nation’s political election but precisely it is an opportunity for relaxation and relief from duty.

Apart from the election days, people use that opportunity to tour round the nations and transact one business or the other which may be contrary to the event of the particular day. This is pointing to some hustling Civil servants who may not have the chance and opportunity to transact one or two business both in weekends as they cease that opportunity to travel far distant to purchase goods for sales. I know one that travels to Dubai whenever there is two days Public Holidays preceding weekends, especially during Moslems festive period that precede weekend, Christian religious Civil servants may cease this period for their personal transactions and services. While during the Christians Easter and Xmas period that precedes the same weekends Moslems also does the same thing.

Now, the question is that “Should those dwelling days be used for any other purpose by which it is not meant for? The constitution of Federal republic of Nigeria made it as a choice of freedom according to Section 41(1) of Nigerian constitution as stated below:
“Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely
Throughout Nigeria and reside in any part thereof
And no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled  from
Nigeria or refused entry or exit there from”

We can see that it is stated clearly that every Nigerian citizen has freedom and right to movement except as limited by law under section 41(2a-b). So if there is no specific instruction or sanction on movement from governmental authorities on that particular day. You are free to decide your choice of movement without any restrictions. Just like the sanitation day where the state administrators will give specific order mandating that no one should move around or transact business at some specific time of 9am to 10 am depending on the state’s constitution or rules for sanitation. And when one goes contrary to this instruction; the person will be punished severely.

Now, in conclusion, the dwelling days of the year should be a time of relaxation and freedom of choice, except as limited by law. These are the days we get relief and rest from duties, other official matters and responsibilities to the Public services. So that we can focus on the event or the purpose of the Holiday as we want it. This condition varies from countries to countries of the world, like in Saudi Arabia which is in United Arab Emirate has some specific limitations on festive period as well as Libya of which when you break the laws it may cost one’s life as Muslim nation.  So Nigeria as a republic gave freedom of movement except if it is limited on certain occasion and for a genuine security purpose.

Diversifying in to Europe and America, the dwelling days are weekends coupled with the Summer Holydays. On these days, one is free to tour round Europe, people travels from London to Paris and Vice versa as well as other part of Europe to spend their summer Holiday with pleasure and comfort. It is a time of pleasure and relaxation with recreational sports activities to keep life and people active. This a seasonal time for flair towards friends’ and relations’ get together. With this we can utilize our dwelling days in the year. Thanks you.

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED “THE CAUSES OF STROKE AILMENT”

Stroke is an illness with the symptoms of loss of power to feel or move especially at the right or left side of the body paralyses. It occurs as a result of blockage, thickening or narrowing or outright damage of brain’s blood vessels.

Though any part of the body can suffer stroke or paralyses depending on the part of the brain where the damage or blockage occurred; it can also result in loss of voice, limb i.e. hand or leg, left or right part of the body. Now there are factors responsible for the stroke ailment:
(1)             High blood pressure
(2)             Partial or incomplete blockage of brain blood vessels by fats
(3)             Partial or incomplete blockage of brain blood vessels by clots
(4)             Overweight
(5)             Abnormal blood volume: This could cause the bursting of weak and inelastic blood vessels.
(6)             Hardening and thickening (Calcification) of arteries/Blood vessels

Now, having known the causes of stroke, who is eligible to suffer this paralyses ailment? The following persons may suffer stroke:
(1)             Older Persons
(2)             A high blood pressure persons
(3)             A hypertensive persons
(4)             Accidents victims with brain damage
(5)             An obese/overweight persons

Also there are ways one can check against this paralysis ailment and these are:
(1)             By avoiding head injury or accident
(2)             By eating enough fruits and vegetables more especially those fruits that are red, yellow and pink in color that contains flavonols and carotenes
(3)             Regular exercises reduces the chances of getting stroke
(4)             It is important to always check your blood pressure and cholesterol levels
(5)             Try to avoid being overweight or obese
(6)             Ensure that your blood volume is not increasing abnormally to avoid bursting of vessels.
(7)             Mind your salt intake, high salt intake could quicken the rate of thickening of your blood vessels as well as reduction of vessels elasticity and these could occurs in the brain, Stroke of course is the answer
TYPES OF STROKE AILMENT
There are three types of stroke Ailment and they are:
(1)             Transient Ischemic Attack
(2)             Ischemic Stroke
(3)             Hemorrhagic Stroke
According to medical records, it was estimated that 87% of stroke ailment are Ischemic type of stroke. Now let us proceed with the their analysis :
(1)       TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK: This type of stroke occurs as a result of blood clot which cause a temporal block to the flow of blood to the brain. And it is called ministroke because the clot symptoms last for a short period of time. This is a warning attack.

(2)       ISCHEMIC STROKE: Though, similar to previous stroke type but it occurs due to blockage of fatty deposits built up in the blood stream on the inner lining of a blood vessel. When a portion of this fat breaks out, it may tend to block the blood flow to the brain; and this process is similar to a heart attack, where a blood clot blocks the flow of blood to a part of the head. Also in this type of stroke, blood clots can travel from one part of the body to the brain. Mostly, the few percentages of this stroke are due to flow of blood clot from one part of the body to the brain and this is called arterial filtration (a system where your heart beats regularly).

Also, we have a thrombotic stroke which forms as a result of an Ischemic stroke caused by a clot forming in a blood stream in your brain. Now, to compare it with Transient Ischemic stroke which its blood clots, which cause an Ischemic stroke can never be dissolved without treatment.

(3)       Hemorrhagic stroke: A hemorrhagic stroke results when a blood vessel in your brain ruptures or breaks, spilling blood into the surrounding tissues. It is caused when an artery in the brain opens due to blood flow interruption which causes damages to the brain. The major cause of this type of stroke is due to weak artery caused by high blood pressure. There are two types of hemorrhagic stroke and they are:
(A)      Aneurysm Hemorrhagic stroke
(B)      Arteriovenous Malformation Hemorrhagic stroke

(A)            Aneurysm Hemorrhagic stroke: This type of Hemorrhagic stroke occurs as a result of weakened part of the blood vessel to blown out balloon form which sometimes ruptures.

(B)             Arteriovenous Malformation Hemorrhagic stroke This is a type of hemorrhagic stroke which have to do with abnormal formed blood vessels. And should in case such blood vessel ruptures; it tends to cause hemorrhagic stroke of this type.

With the above description of this ailment, we can be able to consult our doctor on time before the occurrence to avoid and to prevent the chances of being a victim of stroke ailment. Thanks

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED: “THE INSTABILITY OF MAN IN NIGERIAN SOCIO-CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT”

Nigeria is a nation that comprises about 527 diverse Ethnic languages with different cultural heritage. This implies that Nigeria is a nation that is made up of different culture and ways of communication. The main three tribes that are well recognized and accepted in the same nation are: The Hausas’, The Yorubas’ and The Ibos’. These three tribes form the Northern, Southern, western and Eastern part of the nation. But one thing is remarkable and that is the same political system becomes the umbrella governing the whole tribes as well as regulated from a particular constitution made and approved by the federal republic of Nigerian government headed by the President as the head of state, the senate and the Federation Attorney General. Based on these facts, Nigerian citizens respond to different cultural background and heritage which sometimes goes against the statutory law and these diverse cultural rules and regulation become the foundation for customary law as well as practices which also may not be acceptable or approved by the statutory Nigerian constitution. And these customary practices are being inducted to natives of the custom; which at the end of the day becomes their moral ethic to the detriment of the basic rules and regulations of Nigerian constitution. This is where the instability begins in Nigerian constitution and socio-environment.

Now, what is instability? It is the state of being unstable. It can also be defined as lack of stability or firmness. Especially to the acceptable rules that governs the nation. Our socio-cultural environment has diverse promulgated laws by customary standard which basically is against the statutory law from the Nigerian constitution. And having inducted their natives with these unrefined laws makes them looks stupid as well as ignorant of the main laws that governs the land from Nigerian constitution. For example the activities of the BOKUHARAM INSURGENCY might be justified by cultural heritage due to religious background but a threat to the nation and the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria which is totally against terrorism. Now, the route of terrorism is traceable to Socio-Cultural Heritage. One may ask, “What does this Socio-Cultural heritage means?” It can be defined as the combination of Social and cultural factor as an inheritance. Nigerian social cultural environment is made up of three tribes and they are Hausa, Yoruba and Ibo tribes.

The vacuum that socio-cultural environment has created in our society due to indoctrinated laws is a foundation for man’s instability and ignorant to socio-cultural environment as well as Nigerian as a nation. This is why Nigeria cultural societies and Norms need to be scrutinized to drop some certain habits and practices which are uneducated acceptable standard to improve our society.   Habits like women circumcision due to religious background is still a practice in some native societies in Nigeria especially in the Northern part of Nigeria which is not acceptable by world Health Organization (WHO) Standard. Also giving out female gender to marriage at the tender ages of 12 to 14 years upward is an act condemned by Nigerian constitution but adopted by tribes like the TIV and IDOMA tribes of middle belt of Nigeria, again is the beheading practices by the ABRIBA people in Ibo tribe for condolence of their bereaved chiefs is also an indoctrinate practices which is totally brutal to Nigerian constitution because it involves murdering of innocent ones to bereave a Noble chief. And as a result, though customary laws but totally against Nigerian statutory laws in line with the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria; it also makes those that practice it unstable to the Socio-cultural environment as well as Nigerian constitution.

Finally, the effects of these instabilities in indoctrinated believes in our society are obvious when the 250 Chibok girls were abducted from government secondary school Chibok in Bornu State Nigeria on the night of 14th – 15th April 2014. This is one of the events that shake the nation Nigeria till date. But the solution to such practices is to take formal and acceptable standard of education introduced to Nigerians by the British Colonial masters to the grassroots and curb ignorant of indoctrinate customary and cultural heritage that pollutes our society. Thanks

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED: “A SURVEY OF HEPATITIS VIRUS”

Hepatitis can be defined as inflammation of the liver; it is due to its chronic viruses found to be associated with the liver of the body system. The virus attacks the liver and if not properly identified as well as treated at the earlier stages, it will degenerate up to eating up the human liver to a point that the victim may not recover the effects. The condition can be self limiting or can progress to Fibrosis that is scarring of liver, Cirrhosis or liver Cancer.

The viruses are most common cause of hepatitis in the world. The virus can be found to live in contaminated food and water as well as human feces. And can be transmitted through sexual activities depending on the type of hepatitis

Apart from the virus, other factors may contribute to the effect of Hepatitis like toxic substances like alcohol and certain drugs as well as auto immune diseases can cause hepatitis.

There are 5 main types of Hepatitis virus:
(1)             HEPATITIS A
(2)             HEPATITIS B
(3)             HEPATITIS C
(4)             HEPATITIS D
(5)             HEPATITIS E

These five types of Hepatitis contribute mostly to the mortality rate of individuals, if not arrested and treated at the earlier stage. Amongst the five types of Hepatitis, Hepatitis type B and C are more deadly to the point that the viruses are sometimes difficult to respond to treatment and as a result it can degenerate to chronic liver disease in so many people due to its infectious nature through sexual transmission and leads to Cirrhosis as well as Liver Cancer. Hepatitis B,C And D always occur when a body fluid is transmitted to another person or patient through unscreened  blood transfusion and invasive medical usage of contaminated equipment that can contaminate the blood stream with the affected persons just like HIV transmission. Especially for Hepatitis B which can be transmitted from Mother to baby at birth and also by sexual activities.
While Hepatitis A and E are mostly caused by ingestion of contaminated food and water; Hepatitis A virus can be found in feces of infected person which is transmitted mostly through contaminated food and water, though not dangerous as Hepatitis B, C and D  but can degenerate if not given attention at the earlier stages. Also certain sexual habits and practices can spread Hepatitis A virus, and that is why some drugs like Sabo san and Andrew livers salt as well as Soda water are recommended after such sexual activities to protect your liver from the virus. However, Hepatitis A virus infections are mild in many cases and sometimes severe to the point of life threatening if not arrested on time. The Hepatitis A virus is mostly common in areas where there are poor sanitations like dustbin heaps and other littering of unhealthy rotten solutions or substances as well as damping and smelling gutters. It can also be contacted by anal –oral contacts during sexual activities.

Now, having understand the causes of these viruses, we are proceeding to their symptoms, the initial symptoms of Hepatitis includes diarrhea, mild fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, aching, abdominal pain, vomiting and weight loss. Also, how does these symptoms degenerates in the liver? The damages to the liver are common to mostly Hepatitis A, B and C viruses; the liver is made up of thousands lobules, each lobules comprises many Hepatitis cells. Now, what is hepatitis cell? Hepatitis cells are the basic metabolic cells of the liver. And understanding the functions of the liver will help us more to know how these viruses can affect and damage the liver.  The functions of the liver are as follows:
(A)             DETOXICATION: To filter harmful substances from the blood such as alcohol
(B)             Stores Vitamin A, D, K and B12 (also store mineral)
(C)             Protein synthesis (Make certain amino-acids- the building block of proteins)
(D)            The production of biochemical needed for digestion such as bile
(E)              Maintain proper level of glucose in the blood
(F)              Produces 80% of your body cholesterol
(G)            The storage of glycogen (It converts glucose to glycogen)
(H)            Decompose red blood cells
(I)                Synthesizing Plasma Protein
(J)               It helps in production of hormones
(K)             Produces Urea which is the main substance of urine

Having understanding of the function of liver will help us know the effect of hepatitis virus to this organ and how important it is to always treat the liver. Let us progress to the treatment of Hepatitis, all the types of hepatitis virus has vaccine to prevention except Hepatitis C. The two common drugs approved for Hepatitis C which is transmitted by blood to blood contact by food and drug administration in 2013 are SIMEPRIVIR and SOFOSBUVIR, though the both drugs still have sides’ effects which do not last long. But the approvals are advised to use one of the drugs in combination of peginterferon and ribavirin or just ribavirin, though the physicians are allowed to prescribe approved drugs according to their clinical judgment. Also, the effect of comos study presentation at the meeting of the European Association for Study of the Liver was recorded that 93% rate response of patient treated with both drugs, as well as patients with genotype 1 using simeprivir and sofosbuvir. The mostly common side effect for both drugs are : headache, fatigue, and nausea. Though, Simeprivir does not have one side effect that is particularly problematic. With these facts, I think we can make a headway in the combat of viruses. Thank you.

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED: “THE EFFECT AND CAUSES OF CANCER AS DANGEROUS AILMENT”

Cancer had been noted and proved to be one of the dangerous ailment which had defiled all solutions to treatment as well as hypothesis and experimental researches of scientist on how to cure the ailment effectively. This is one of the sickness that does not have a particular curing drug, but can be controlled biologically through nutrition approach; It had been discovered that the 80% causes of cancer are genetic, which means that those that suffers the ailment are prone to a particular gene which is term as good gene known as oncogene. When you have this type of gene, and notice that one or two persons suffered the ailment in your family lineage, especially one’s parents or grandparents, one needs to seek medical attention and advise on the type of dieting to use and control the unforeseen effect of the ailment in the near future, just as it had no cure, prevention is better than cure.

Also, it had been discovered that those that might have suffered cancer between the ages of 1 to 40 years are due to hereditary effect while those that suffered it above 40 years up may be due to dieting habit, dieting causes cancer as well as controls or heals cancer. How do we come about this? It is good to eat more of fruits and vegetables which is the main dieting that controls and prevents the effect of this ailment than depending on junks food and sugary food contents that help to foster the effect if you are hereditary to it through gene. It had also been discovered that artificial or refined sugar is enabling agent for this incurable ailment; Cancer tumor feeds on sugar to grow and it is good that one should limit on food that are high in sugar contents like alcohol and other sugary drinking products as well as chemically preserved or canned food products.

Also, depending on the type of cancer, dieting is not the only causes of cancer. Chemicals that have high content of carcinogen which is a pigment that forms cancer is also responsible for the effects; Carcinogen is a substance that is responsible for damaging DNA gene as well as enabling or promoting cancer. Tobacco smoke is a type of carcinogen which causes cancer of the lungs. There are over 200 types of cancer, and it starts to develop from any body tissue, just as tobacco smoking affects the lungs and causes cancer, over exposing one’s skin to the sun may cause a melanoma cancer on ones leg. But the sun won’t give you lungs cancer as smoking won’t give you melanoma. In a nutshell cancer can grow from different tissue with different factors responsible for it. What causes leukemia is not the same to what causes breast cancer. Now just as we said earlier we have four types of gene and they are:
(1)             Oncogene
(2)             Tumor Suppression gene
(3)             Suicide gene
(4)             DNA

But amongst these entire genes, the oncogene is genetically responsible for cancer effect if not controlled on time. Coming to treatment of cancer, we have diverse treatments for different types of cancer which may not prove effectively at the end of the day but the best treatment is prevention at the earlier stage. But before we dabble into treatment which is not utmost important now, we are going to see major causes of cancer as listed below:
(1)             Smoking causes lungs cancer
(2)             Over skin exposure to sunlight causes melanoma cancer on one’s leg
(3)             The Natural sun causes skin cancer
(4)             Man made Radiation causes cancer
(5)             Work place Hazards like pollution causes cancer
(6)             Asbestos causes cancer
(7)             Viruses like (HPV) meaning Human Papiloma Virus causes cervical cancer on women after 25 years of untreated infection in the body, more than 80% of United state citizens are affected by this virus and it is commonly spreads through sexually activities, this is also responsible for the cancer of tonsil and esophageal cancer. HPV has a vaccine for treatment  which is taken three times at  intervals of 6 months in a year.
(8)             There are other viruses that causes cancer apart from HPV; they causes other type of cancer like liver cancer which is traceable to Hepatitis B and C virus .

Now having known the causes these cancers, we are going to know how these genes mentioned above contribute to cancer development in the body tissues. Now, what causes cancer is mainly the effect of uncontrolled growth of cells which do not die. There is procedure for a normal cell to grow, divide and die. The programmed cell death is called apotosis, and when this process breaks down, cancer begins to form. Comparing it to regular cell, cancer cells do not experience programmatic death but instead continue to grow and divide. And this leads to much abnormal cells that grow out of control. Now, the four types of gene mentioned earlier are responsible for cells division. And looking at their functions at this stage of cell division are as follows:

(A)The oncogene tells the cells when to divide
(B) The tumor suppression gene tell the cells when not to divide
(C) The suicide gene controls apotosis and tell the cell to kill itself if something goes wrong
(D)DNA repair genes, it instruct a cell to repair damaged DNA

Now from the above functions, cancer is formed when a cell’s gene mutations make the cells unable to correct DNA damage and unable to commit suicide. So in a nutshell cancer is as a result of mutations that inhibit oncogene and tumor suppressor gene functions leading to uncontrollable growth.

Also coming back to treatment and prevention of cancer, just as we said that some chemically preserved food and sugary food contents causes’ cancer, examples of these are:
(1)             Micro waved popcorn
(2)             Non organic fruit that is chemically preserved
(3)             Canned food like Tomatoes Pate, especially expired ones
(4)             Processed meat like Sausages, hot dogs, bacon, blogna or pimento loaf
(5)             The excessive salt and chemical used when processing meat are damaging to health, to include smoked fish.
(6)             Farmed Salmon
(7)             Potatoes chip
(8)             Hydrogenated oil example Omega 6 fatty acid
(9)             Food that are highly salted, pickled or smoked
(10)        Highly processed white flour
(11)        White flour
(12)        Refined sugar
(13)        Artificial sweetener
(14)        Alcohol and sugary drinks
(15)        Excessive Red meat

Having known the example of food that can cause cancer, let us proceed to Anti Cancer diets which are as follows:
(1)             Keep your diets low in total fat and saturated fats:
(i)                Eat less total fats which are found in food like milk, butter coconut, cheese etc
(ii)              Eat Right fat like vegetable fat which comes from plant based fats and known as unsaturated fats like Avocado peer, olives peanut butter, nuts and seed, vegetable shortening. Though some plant based fats such as Trans fats are unhealthy, but the ones mentioned here are healthy. Now eating food that contains healthy vegetable fats can be a replacement for saturated fats and Trans fats which can help keep your heart healthy by improving your cholesterol.
(iii)           Don’t eat bad fats: examples are high saturated fat like palm kernel, palm, Coconut and cotton seed, these are unhealthy Trans fat that are plant based.
(iv)           Don’t eat hydrogenated fats: Those fats that had been chemically changed from unsaturated fat to hydrogenated fat. They are potentially carcinogenic and can cause cancer. Examples are Hydrogenated butter, overheated palm oil or groundnut oil: excessive heating of oil turns it to chemical which is harmful to your health.
(2)             Increase your fiber intake: example of food that contains fibers are beans, whole grain and some fruits like water melon, apple  and Banana.
(3)             Eat lots of fruits and Vegetables: The anti cancer substance in fruits and vegetable are Phenols, indol, Flavonol, Cumines and isothio Cynates which helps to fight carcinogen.
(4)             An Anti Cancer Salad: Such as vitamin C and E plus beta carotene are anti oxidant which seems to have synergistic effect when taken together
(5)             Switch from Red meat to Sea food
(6)             Eat fish and chicken which decrease risk of Colon cancer
(7)             Switch from Animal based food diet to plant based food diet
(8)             Eat more Soya products
(9)             Take one table spoon of flax seed oil daily.
(10)        Avoid saturated and hydrogenated oil in your diet.
(11)        To lower the risk of colorectal cancer, consider taking 500 to 1000 mg of calcium carbonates or citrate daily.
(12)        Eat diet high in antioxidants
(13)        Beta carotene can block the growth of cancerous cell and examples of Beta carotene foods are Pumpkin, sweet potatoes, carrots, Butter, nuts, winter squash, Broccoli, spinach, papaya, mango and pink grape.
(14)        Vitamin C fights big cancer
(15)        Vitamin E lowers risk of cancer
(16)        A dose of 200 to 400 mg of Vitamin A and E daily to a Colon Cancer patient can lower the risk for 2 years.
(17)        Cancer researchers suggest 25% of ground flax seed a day
(18)        Drink less alcohol
(19)        Take at least 100 to 200 mg of selenium supplement a day to lower the risk of cancer.

Finally, since we all know that treatment of cancer is not 100% guarantee to the survival of the affected patients, therefore prevention is better than cure and remains the key to cancer treatment, though there are other administered treatment like chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and other therapies which may not prove effective at the end of the day, but let us learn to abide by seeking the attention of medical professionals to know the status of our genetic inherited attributes as well as instructions on how to go about out dieting if we found wanting of cancer effect based on our genetic  background. Thank you.

ARTICLE WRITTEN BY ONYIA EMEKA HARFORD TITLED: “POLITICS IN NIGERIA ECONOMY”

The prime demands in Nigerian Political Economy is culminating to a state of incumbent terrorism where thugs ceases arms and ammunition to victimize fellow political opponent in a bet to overpower and occupy the existing political position irrespective of the qualitative demands of that post. But is it by sanction or by peaceful co-existence as well as fair election will a political position is assumed? That is an ideology of a black man, who ceases sanction and brutalization to assume political post. The adage still remains intact “That a good name is better that perfume”. Nigeria has emulated good qualities from our past British Colonial master which should not be betrayed or sold out to corruption but the idiosyncrasy of illiteracy has battered and destabilized the economic, financial and Political status of our Nation Nigeria; which are the three core values that made up the economy of a nation.

Now, let us go back to our drawing boards and learn from what our Colonial Masters taught us, they taught us that free and fair election is an incumbent access to the throne, not by sanction assassination, brutalization and war which will not be the solution. Based on this platform, I am beaconing on our leaders, to look into the nation’s political status and teach the future leaders the path to successful leadership; and let it be a legacy as stipulated in Nigerian constitution. When we all come to our senses to know that we are the main cause of Nigerian Political trauma, then we can decide to create chances for change and innovation in the society.

Though, there were some good past leaders, we could count on their exploits in Political arena, some are late like: “LATE PROFESSOR DORA AKUNYILI” was number one to emulate her leadership potential as per result oriented exploits who had appropriated an agency for change in Joint with Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON). NAFDAC will not progress without recounting the steps which the proprietor took to create a change in phasing out some substandard products. The proprietor withstood the threat to death in the face of phasing out substandard foods and drugs products. Who can take the mantle from her and bring us to another realm of innovation? Thank God that those exploits still earned her a higher position as a minister in Nigeria. But who can succeed her to create a better change? We have not seen one yet. That is why Nigeria is called for curbing of corruption and inhuman treatments.

The solution to our Political leadership is to get back to readers and select leaders like DORA. I think that will solve this nation’s crises of corruption, emanating from political leaders who cease thugs for tussles and power. We can still make a change, if we will call it a duty to say NO! To corruption and injustice.

Coming to the arms of Nigerian government; from the legislative to Judiciary now eat bribes indirectly because of economic hardship that accompanies the notion of corruption and injustice, where one or two persons with sanction and dictatorship embezzle and direct public fund to his/her private account while the Nigeria Labor Congress Executives are sanctioned to calm down the angry Civil and Public servants who are owned 6 to 8 months salaries to the advantage of the leader or leaders who dump it in fixed deposit to yield annual interest to their selfish aggrandizement. Nigeria is doomed to probe from the leaders to servants of the accounts of their services to the nation. And that should be route to vision 2020 agenda and change.

Finally, counting on some lazy contractors who will use their IM and collect contract, only to settle the givers or contracts awards leaders at the back to the detriment of poor services like poor roads construction and half execution of approved infrastructure development; sorry to say it, it is more common amongst the Ibos, though I am an Ibo man, but the ravaging financial crimes amongst the Ibos when they are given opportunity is calling for EFCC probation, beatings and imprisonment. Based on these facts, let us bend down and fight corruption and injustice to make Nigeria           Political Arena a base to participate and emulate leadership skills. Long lives Nigerian Political Economy; long lives Enugu State in Nigeria, Long Lives Federal Republic of Nigeria.
