The
prime demands in Nigerian Political Economy is culminating to a state of
incumbent terrorism where thugs ceases arms and ammunition to victimize fellow
political opponent in a bet to overpower and occupy the existing political
position irrespective of the qualitative demands of that post. But is it by sanction or by peaceful co-existence
as well as fair election will a political position is assumed? That is an
ideology of a black man, who ceases sanction and brutalization to assume
political post. The adage still remains intact “That a good name is better that perfume”. Nigeria has emulated
good qualities from our past British Colonial master which should not be
betrayed or sold out to corruption but the idiosyncrasy of illiteracy has
battered and destabilized the economic, financial and Political status of our
Nation Nigeria; which are the three core values that made up the economy of a
nation.
Now,
let us go back to our drawing boards and learn from what our Colonial Masters
taught us, they taught us that free and
fair election is an incumbent access to the throne, not by sanction assassination,
brutalization and war which will not be the solution. Based on this platform, I
am beaconing on our leaders, to look into the nation’s political status and teach
the future leaders the path to successful leadership; and let it be a legacy as
stipulated in Nigerian constitution. When we all come to our senses to know
that we are the main cause of Nigerian Political trauma, then we can decide to
create chances for change and innovation in the society.
Though,
there were some good past leaders, we could count on their exploits in
Political arena, some are late like: “LATE
PROFESSOR DORA AKUNYILI” was number one to emulate her leadership potential
as per result oriented exploits who had appropriated an agency for change in
Joint with Standard Organization of
Nigeria (SON). NAFDAC will not progress
without recounting the steps which the proprietor took to create a change in
phasing out some substandard products. The proprietor withstood the threat to
death in the face of phasing out substandard foods and drugs products. Who can
take the mantle from her and bring us to another realm of innovation? Thank God
that those exploits still earned her a higher position as a minister in Nigeria.
But who can succeed her to create a
better change? We have not seen one yet. That is why Nigeria is called for
curbing of corruption and inhuman treatments.
The
solution to our Political leadership is to get back to readers and select
leaders like DORA. I think that will solve this nation’s crises of corruption,
emanating from political leaders who cease thugs for tussles and power. We can
still make a change, if we will call it a duty to say NO! To corruption and
injustice.
Coming
to the arms of Nigerian government; from the legislative to Judiciary now eat
bribes indirectly because of economic hardship that accompanies the notion of
corruption and injustice, where one or two persons with sanction and
dictatorship embezzle and direct public fund to his/her private account while
the Nigeria Labor Congress Executives are sanctioned to calm down the angry
Civil and Public servants who are owned 6 to 8 months salaries to the advantage
of the leader or leaders who dump it in fixed deposit to yield annual interest
to their selfish aggrandizement. Nigeria is doomed to probe from the leaders to
servants of the accounts of their services to the nation. And that should be
route to vision 2020 agenda and change.
Finally,
counting on some lazy contractors who will use their IM and collect contract,
only to settle the givers or contracts awards leaders at the back to the
detriment of poor services like poor roads construction and half execution of
approved infrastructure development; sorry to say it, it is more common amongst
the Ibos, though I am an Ibo man, but the ravaging financial crimes amongst the
Ibos when they are given opportunity is calling for EFCC probation, beatings
and imprisonment. Based on these facts, let us bend down and fight corruption
and injustice to make Nigeria Political
Arena a base to participate and emulate leadership skills. Long lives Nigerian
Political Economy; long lives Enugu State in Nigeria, Long Lives Federal
Republic of Nigeria.
