Stroke is an illness with the
symptoms of loss of power to feel or move especially at the right or left side
of the body paralyses. It occurs as a result of blockage, thickening or
narrowing or outright damage of brain’s blood vessels.
Though any part of the body can
suffer stroke or paralyses depending on the part of the brain where the damage
or blockage occurred; it can also result in loss of voice, limb i.e. hand or
leg, left or right part of the body. Now there are factors responsible for the
stroke ailment:
(1)
High blood pressure
(2)
Partial or incomplete blockage of brain blood vessels
by fats
(3)
Partial or incomplete blockage of brain blood vessels
by clots
(4)
Overweight
(5)
Abnormal blood volume: This could cause the bursting
of weak and inelastic blood vessels.
(6)
Hardening and thickening (Calcification) of
arteries/Blood vessels
Now, having known the causes of
stroke, who is eligible to suffer this paralyses ailment? The following persons
may suffer stroke:
(1)
Older Persons
(2)
A high blood pressure persons
(3)
A hypertensive persons
(4)
Accidents victims with brain damage
(5)
An obese/overweight persons
Also there are ways one can check
against this paralysis ailment and these are:
(1)
By avoiding head injury or accident
(2)
By eating enough fruits and vegetables more especially
those fruits that are red, yellow and pink in color that contains flavonols and
carotenes
(3)
Regular exercises reduces the chances of getting
stroke
(4)
It is important to always check your blood pressure
and cholesterol levels
(5)
Try to avoid being overweight or obese
(6)
Ensure that your blood volume is not increasing
abnormally to avoid bursting of vessels.
(7)
Mind your salt intake, high salt intake could quicken
the rate of thickening of your blood vessels as well as reduction of vessels
elasticity and these could occurs in the brain, Stroke of course is the answer
TYPES OF STROKE AILMENT
There are three types of stroke
Ailment and they are:
(1)
Transient Ischemic Attack
(2)
Ischemic Stroke
(3)
Hemorrhagic Stroke
According to medical records, it
was estimated that 87% of stroke ailment are Ischemic type of stroke. Now let
us proceed with the their analysis :
(1) TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACK: This
type of stroke occurs as a result of blood clot which cause a temporal block to
the flow of blood to the brain. And it is called ministroke because the clot
symptoms last for a short period of time. This is a warning attack.
(2) ISCHEMIC STROKE: Though, similar
to previous stroke type but it occurs due to blockage of fatty deposits built
up in the blood stream on the inner lining of a blood vessel. When a portion of
this fat breaks out, it may tend to block the blood flow to the brain; and this
process is similar to a heart attack, where a blood clot blocks the flow of
blood to a part of the head. Also in this type of stroke, blood clots can travel
from one part of the body to the brain. Mostly, the few percentages of this
stroke are due to flow of blood clot from one part of the body to the brain and
this is called arterial filtration (a
system where your heart beats regularly).
Also, we have a thrombotic stroke
which forms as a result of an Ischemic stroke caused by a clot forming in a
blood stream in your brain. Now, to compare it with Transient Ischemic stroke
which its blood clots, which cause an Ischemic stroke can never be dissolved
without treatment.
(3) Hemorrhagic stroke: A
hemorrhagic stroke results when a blood vessel in your brain ruptures or
breaks, spilling blood into the surrounding tissues. It is caused when an
artery in the brain opens due to blood flow interruption which causes damages
to the brain. The major cause of this type of stroke is due to weak artery
caused by high blood pressure. There are two types of hemorrhagic stroke and
they are:
(A) Aneurysm
Hemorrhagic stroke
(B) Arteriovenous
Malformation Hemorrhagic stroke
(A)
Aneurysm Hemorrhagic stroke: This type
of Hemorrhagic stroke occurs as a
result of weakened part of the blood vessel to blown out balloon form which
sometimes ruptures.
(B)
Arteriovenous Malformation Hemorrhagic stroke This is a type of
hemorrhagic stroke which have to do with abnormal formed blood vessels. And
should in case such blood vessel ruptures; it tends to cause hemorrhagic stroke
of this type.
With
the above description of this ailment, we can be able to consult our doctor on
time before the occurrence to avoid and to prevent the chances of being a
victim of stroke ailment. Thanks
