The federal government of
Nigeria is to review the Nation’s Education system to make known by the school
subject in primary and secondary school the Anglican Arch. Bishop of Jos proven, Most
Rev. Godwin Oshi gave the advice
at the midway national prayer for the country organized by the Saint James Anglican church Asuko Abuja. Arch. Bishop Oshi attributed
the proven high moral decadent and youth restiveness to the importation of western
culture and formal education into the country. He called for urgent meeting
with the government and stake holders in the education sector for the peace and
unity of the country.
According to Arch. Bishop Oshi he said that children should remain self
respect, dignity of humanity, service to community and other qualities that make
up education; not just certificate. That children will spend six years in the Nigeria
University; and will not have any prove in their certificate that they have
attended University, that this should be done so that when a child finish
primary and secondary school; he/she is ready to serve his nation morally
before furthering to higher institution.
The convener of the National
prayers sections Professor Yaba
stress the need for parents to invest their time and resources in to proper
upbringing of the children; according to him that parent should enroll their
kids in health care and other caring service to improve the standard of their
kids that as they abide by this godly principle that God will bless them
indeed. He also encourages the church to pray for the divine solution towards
challenges confronting the country.
