A team of inmates awaiting trial had been released in five
prisons and one human home in Delta State by the State chief judge JUSTICE MARSHAL RUMUKURU during his visit to the
prison. According to the reporter that 44 prisoner were granted bail while 5
were refer to medical treatment in Benin.
According to the reporter from the Delta State Nigeria, that
the Prison visited were sacred prisonery Man Home, Warri Prisons, Immediate
security Prison Ogwashiukwu and other two prisons, and a total of 2770 cases
were examined by Delta State Nigerian chief judge JUSTICE RUMUKURU, one of the inmate he use was FIDELIS IGWE from Ebonyi State Nigeria
who had been on awaiting trial over cases of conspiracy on stealing, two other inmate released were IFEANYI UGWU and SAMUEL
NJOKU who had been in the custody since
April 2011 over alleged armed Robbery case.
Delta State Chief
Judge JUSTICE RUMUKURU said the inmates were released as the witnesses were
not willing to appear in court to testify. JUSTCE
RUMUKURU who urged them aware of bad company and be of good behavior noted
that the many of the cases were as a result of breakdown of family values in
the society. He also appealed to parents Guidance and other stake holders to
inculcate good moral in their children and take proper care of them.
