THE NEWS EVENTS OF LAST WEEK

It had been an eventful week from the democracy day celebrations to the death of boxing legend MOHAMMED  ADAMU. ELAYEMI DANIEL has some the details of event in the country Nigeria last week.

During the week the world Boxing legend MOHAMMED  ALI died aged 74,  the head way champion has struggled with Acute disease for decades. MOHAMMED  ALI was famous with ingenuity in boxing, he was also an out spoken poet and inspirational personality .

According to the reporter OLAYEMI DANIEL he said in the course of the week the federal government of Nigeria also set up a committee to look in to the grievances of laver arising in the increase of pump price of petrol, the committee comprises representatives from the Nigerian Labour Congress (NUC),Trade Union Congress, Minister of Labour and Employment DR. CHRIS NGIGIDE, during the week also The Board Of Trustees of the People’s Democratic  Party in Nigeria to cover the party leadership and also depends on resolution of the crises in the party. The BOG led by AMBASSADOR WAL ALLIU JUBRIL said the takeover was aimed at facilitating the decision of the Inspector General of Police to grant them access into the premises which were under security.

Nigeria also joined international community to mark WORLD TOBACCO DAY some of the Nigerian spoke on danger concerning TOBACCO, saying that tobacco is dangerous to health and some believe on the advert posed by the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria on dangers of tobacco to the victims in the society. They also said that Tobacco also to include anything that contain Nicotine which is not healthy to health especially in excess consumption of the products.

On planning group Managing Director Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) MR MOHAMMED BARIKANGO alleged the Secretary General of Organization  Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) during the week, MR.
