NIGERIANS HAD BEEN URGED TO SUPPORT THE BUILDING AND SUSTAINING OF UNIVERSITIES TO COMPLEMENT THE GOVERNMENT EFFORT

Nigerians had been urged to support the building and sustaining of Universities to complement the government effort. Ministry of trade, investment and industries DR. OKECHUKWU OMELEMA made the call in Abuja University of Nigeria Nsukka Summit and reception of some the political appointee of the Alumina.

According to the report from Abuja that the summit and receptions organized  by the university  was to bring together member of the Alumina Association to find a way out of the financial challenges faced by the institution Post mode academics activities. The meeting eventually gave rise to establishment of an endowment fund. The minister of trade, investment and industries DR. OKECHUKWU OMELEMA commended the effort to improve the standard of the school.

The Vice Chancellor of the University PROF. BENJAMIN OZUMBER explained that with the endowment in place, the institution will overcome funding challenges that may dislodge academics activities which had been the bane of many Nigerian Universities.

Some of the members of the University Alumina also express their initiative on the endowment fund raised. One of the political appointee: the senior special assistant to the placement on media and publicity MALLAM GARUBA SHEHU said UNN will remain the ultimate. MALLAM GARUBA SHEHU used the opportunity to appeal to his colleagues to use their school Alumina base to keep the school rhyming effectively.
