Ondo State High court On Wednesday 16th March, 2016, sentenced a man Tope Ekundayo to death by hanging after
founding him guilty of armed robbery offense. Justice William Olamide who passed the judgment said that the culprit who
is 35 years young man was found guilty of two counts of conspiracy.

at state High Court was found Guilty by the the High Court Judge for robbing a
woman of a sum of N35, 000.00, as a
result the presiding Justice William Olamide sentenced him to death
by hanging. According to the reporters the culprit’s case had been previously
tried in Oke Eda Magistrate court where the case proved unsuccessful and the chief magistrate forwarded it to the
State High court where Justice Williams Olamide
presided over the case.
According to the reporter, the police informed the court
earlier after series of investigation of the case at the State Magistrate court that the culprit Mr. Temitopke Ekundayo was arrested and detained through acumen gathering after his
victim swift to police station and made a report of the crime. Then, the Ondo
State Police Anti Robery Squad (SARS) seized Mr. Temitope Ekundayo and kept him under custody further
prosecution.
During the prosecution,
Sola Adeyemi-Tuki and Jumoke Ogujobi
informed the court that the traitor had been previously found guilty of this
same offense after serious investigation by the state police officers.
The defendant’s counsel to the culprit, Toyin Asake from legal Aid Nigeria, argued that Mr. Temitope Ekundayo had been standing
for trial for a long time and should be pardon for the offense. But the
presiding Judge insisted that the culprit must be sentence to death by hanging
to serve as a lesson to other citizens who will intend to engage in such crime
in the near future.
