EASTER MESSAGE FROM NIGERIAN CHURCHES



In Abia State Nigeria, Christians had been advised to always remain truthful and God fearing as the mark of resurrection Of Jesus Christ. The Cathedral of Administrator Nwatude Catholic Church Umuahia Rev. Fr. Paschal Okpara gave this advice in Easter sermon; he said that the message of Easter implies triumphant good over evil. Father Okpara urged Christians to use the period of Easter to demonstrate their love to one another irrespective of Religion and differences.

Similarly, the head of Catholic Dioceses of Uyo Rev. Father Emmanuel Atim  were scolding Nigerian especially Christians to law abiding and respect constituted authority. Father Atim made a call at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Uyo, Akwa-ibom State capital Nigeria.

According to another reporter: Rev. Father Emmanuel Atim said according to the book of Corinthian 15:25 Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice by dying on the cross of Calvary to wash away the sins of mankind and by resurrecting from the grave to signify the victory of God over sin so that we urge Man kind to obey the teachings of Christ and do the will of God Almighty, so that whoever respected on the various national issue urge Nigerians to desist from all sorts of Lawlessness and corruption. He also advises the country to walk towards ensuring that Justice, honesty and equity reigns supreme in the country.

The Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship in Nigeria in Akwa-Ibom State Pastor Uwani Ukafia said the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a lesson of victory and love. Ukafia urged Christians to show love to one another. Senior Pastor of Rema bible Church Apostle Rich urged Christians to re-dedicate their life to work of God.

Christians had been advised to support the present administration in Nigeria and pray for the success of the Nation. This was a focus in some churches in Ekiti State as a special source to recognize Easter: According to another reporter Pastor Olusola Alunde of the Assemblies of God Churches Ado Ekiti who reminded Christians of the bible which emphasized the need for people to pray for their leaders. Pastor Alunde suggested the need for Nigeria to support the Anti Corruption campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari and challenge government at all level to provide jobs for the Youth to stop the in engaging in immorality and other Social vices. Also Pastor Lucky Onodery from Edo State said there is hope for Nigerian only if the leaders who with the fear of God formulate policies without prejudice.

Agape Christian Ministry Delightsome land Opopo Bora Ado Ekiti Pastor Sulla Folonsho said Easter was an assurance that Christians have hope beyond the grave and we must rejoice in the lord. Similarly, Pastor Mathew Akwanzo of the Redeem Christian Church of God: All sufficient Parish Ado-Ekiti said Easter is not a day for merry making alone but a time for Sober Reflection and acknowledgment of God’s law and sacrifice for Mankind. Also Pastor Taiwo Abdnego of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mount Zion Parish Ekwute Ado Ekiti urges believers to use the period to rededicate their life to Service of God and propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pastor Abadnego also urge Nigerian to engage in fervent prayer for the turnaround of the country’s Economy.n
