A SUSPECT SLICED TO DEATH BY MOB FOR STEALING ATM CARD


It was on the broad day of Thursday 17th of March, 2016 that a suspect was hacked to death by an angry Mob who took law in their hands at Asaba, the capital Delta State, Nigeria. According to the reporter the victim was said to have stolen an ATM Card from a woman right inside a popular market in Asaba known as “Ogbeogonogo”. The victim was reported to have snatched the bag from the woman which contains an ATM CARD and other valuable items, and on the process to escape, the angry mob caught him and sentenced him to instant death.

According to reporter, though the Police intervened at the scene of the event but could not stop the angry crowd of traders who kept on hitting the suspect to prevent the police officers from taking him to station till death.

According to one of the traders it that witnessed the event, it was not a good sight to behold, he had been among the one pleading for the release of the victim to the police for proper prosecution. This also serves as a lesson to everyone trying in indulging in such act; armed robbery is a crime punishable by law (criminal Code Act-Part VI) Chapter 36 Section 402 Subsection 1 and 2 of Nigerian constitution.
