A
health expert DR. GODWIN ITADO has
warns taking anti malaria drugs for fever without laboratory test to know what causes
the condition is dangerous to health, this is because fever is common symptom
of malaria and many other ailments. DR.
GODWIN ITADO who is the deputy director Case Management Ground National
Malaria Eradication Program in Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria, gave thIs
warning at an interactive section of the health Auditors in Lagos on the field
operating of Malaria.
According
to the reporter of the events who said those issues such as low malaria hepatize,
none or poor use against lasting insecticide treatment. Poor malaria treatment
low resistance, no resistance scheme of the disease, lack of diagnoses or unwarned
laboratory results were in recent addressed issues. DR. GODWIN ITADO noted that many people treated all fevers with malaria
medicines without consulting health care provider, conduct tests on rapid
diagnoses truth to confirm the persons of the disease; he explained that taking
anti malaria drug without solemn justification is a waste of time and money as
well as leading to pre-malaria treatment outcome which had become a source of
worry to health experts.
According
to ITADO, he said that he had no
doubt, maybe there is a tendency that there is alleged diagnose of malaria on
someone, for instance when someone comes and say that he has malaria and he
gives the persons APC and he swallows, only to discover three days later; the person
still come back for the same malaria; it is wrong because malaria cannot occur
that frequently, at least it has to take up to 14 days which is about two weeks
before you have another attack.
DR. GODWIN ITADO also advised members of the public to use rapid
diagnostic truth which he described as easy safe and safety as well as conduct
proper test in a truth laboratory to confirm whether the fever is malaria or
not. Still according to him he said that whenever we have fever let our eyes
not be on Malaria, we need a proved test to confirm.
Also
a media consultant MR. ANSELEM OKORO urged
journalist especially world correspondent to pass the messages in simple and concise
manner in view of lives situation for easy restoration.
Across
the section are participants who have identified difficulty in assessing the
solution due to democratic abatement and completely nature of other story promised
to do more in disseminating malaria related stories. One of the participants
said that in Lagos State 80 percent malaria cases are traceable to fake
diagnoses or other no diagnoses. About thirty Journalists from prints were in
the program in Lagos.
