THE STANDARD ORGANIZATION OF NIGERIA (SON) HAS RAIDED NOT LESS THAN SEVEN (7) ELECTRONIC SHOPS IN JOS, PLATEAU STATE, NIGERIA


The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has raided not less than seven (7) electronic shops and put them on the lock for selling substandard electrical cable in Jos, Nigeria. The Plateau State coordinator of the organization MASSE JUDGE led the exercise.

According to the reporter, one of the mandates of the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) is to ensure that the only goods that meet requirement of the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standard are in the market. The organization in plateau state Nigeria has raided several Electronic shops selling substandard and electrical cables to unsuspected members of the public. In an operation led by the state coordinator of the organization, MUSA JUDGE, a violate of the electrical cable that fail the test was confiscated. JUDGE said the real exercise came at a time the federal government allowed Nigerians to patronize with a Nigerian product. This cease to discourage the faith Nigerian has in foreign goods which are more often and more substandard and dangerous.

Some of the shop owners who showed very little or no resistance; however have different opinion on where the problem lies.  Men will be the thorn of the manufacturers who refuse to conform to the minimum industrial requirement.
